When Trump installs his pick at the Fed, there will be nothing stopping his corruption - both domestically and internationally.

Imagine how Trump could take advantage of crippling the Fed's regulatory and oversight mission. Capturing the Fed would mean his corruptions would be unchecked - not just nationally but internationally as well.

The Fed has unique authority to regulate interest rates and employment/unemployment rates. It also carries out oversight of member institutions, in terms of the policies established by the Fed, as well as enforcing specific laws passed by Congress.

The speculation is that Trump wants to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell because Trump sees interest rates are too high - damaging Trump's political persona. I'm thinking Trump's intent to fire Powell goes beyond merely interest rates and inflation.
