I managed to get the app working on the TV today although there is still a lot of spinning ball before the program loads.
First I used the clear all option on the app, then did a soft reset (for Samsung pleas and hold the off key until the TV restarts), then wait for the network to restart.

same here but as all other apps work I think it is purely a TVNZ issue.
Just make sure you have updates turned on for apps on your TV incase they get their shit together.
The problems appear to be device-specific, I have an oldish iPhone which the new app won't open on and a newer iPhone that works without issues. My TV loads the app but comes up with a fault when launching any program.
It's staggering that these issues aren't being reported by the media.

TVNZ seems to have done an excellent job updating the back end of their TVNZ+ to allow it, a public broadcaster, to charge for stuff & to make the user experience worse in every single respect than the previous version of the app.
Including buffering for the full minute before playing anything.

Given that Trump is quite happy to declare any country a new territory of the USA it would seem that Winston is creating a national security issue by supplying NZ intelligence data to a potential state enemy. It's like giving a treasure map to a pirate and expecting a cut.

I noticed there was no mention in that interview of climate change mitigation. Sure we need adaption measures but unless we stabilize the climate with an urgent worldwide decarbonization initiative we will never keep up with adaption measures.

In New Zealand we already have 100% new e-bus sales, by policy, and will have 100% e-bus fleet by 2035, also by policy. Clean tech + regulation = win.

It’s unbelievable that a National broadcaster would release a BETA version and use the public as BETA testers. Even more amazing that this fuck up hasn’t been reported in the media.
On my iOS mobile, the app is telling me my phone is rooted (jailbroken) so it won’t load. My phone isn’t jailbroken.
Tried deleting the app and reinstalling but the same thing.
Both the Smart TV and phone app have been deleted. Glad you had better luck!
Just like our government - multiple tobacco lobbyists now in parliament scraping anti tobacco legislation and giving tax breaks for Big Tobacco except they weren't excluded from meetings..
This is probably a PR stunt to get military funding or contracts.
