Loved the article! I like introducing the area model with MashUpMath's emojii puzzles to kids very early and get them thinking about "factoring" way before Algebra. These puzzles are low key genius.

2. Show us "most/least correct" answer choices like in the main game

Cool! I'm teaching this next week. I need to do the same! Just so I'm on my game:

I like to start this unit with having them guess the Amount of cheeseballs using V formula

I'm wondering if this is the last World Championships on SV and everything will be forever on Champions from here on out. That makes complete sense, I REALLY hope they go all in on VGC in Champions.

I'm so excited about this! And honestly they can make SO MUCH MONEY from selling us cosmetics and such in VGC battles, this is win win for them if they do it right.

This is a great psychological approach to let all your opponents know that you're actually running a 180 SPE CSR, genius!

Which shit do we want them to graph by hand? For example I'm cool with graphing linear equations and some quadratics, like as in class practice to "see how the sauce is made" and learn.

But for assessments, I'm with you. That doesn't need to be by hand.

I admittedly have not taught a full year with IM Algebra 1. I can vouch for IM 6-8, love it.

What's your favorite Alg1 curriculum currently?

I taught in a school where they wanted every lesson to be "scripted".

It literally does not matter what curriculum or program you're using at that point when that's the expectation. Teaching is just a non serious job at that point.

I used IM 6-10th for about 5 years. I loved it. But I would HESITATE & not advocate for using w/ an entire district. It's a tough curriculum to use. It's like learning to drive for the 1st time on a semitruck or Ferrari.

IM is best implemented only with Ts who are very comfortable w/it.

I mean, yeah, almost every single Saturday in the school year. My family asks, "what do you want to do today?" And my answer is always, Nothing! 😆

I don't blame the Commanders. They're playing the game within the rules. They weren't deliberately trying to prevent the Eagles from running a play, they were deliberately trying to get a jump on stopping a certain/specific play.
