Girl clam down
I come from a very 'mind over matter' upbringing when it came to sickness, to the point that I thought for years that things like damage from sustained untreated infections were symptoms of anxiety. so it's very fucked up to learn you can get hurt from thinking too much for a little too long
it's crazy how much actual physical damage sustained stress can do to your body.
just learned this pokemon game everyone has been playing is a switch 2 exclusive and now I have to adapt to the reality of a world in which all you fuckers actually paid for that thing
and you can purchase so many unremarkable palm sized items with cash. shipping stickers. glue sticks. correction tape. chalk markers. but we don't use them for anything bad. due to the social contract.
do you ever think about how fragile print books are? anything can fuck them up in an instant. ink, adhesive, stubborn stickers that won't peel off, stains, tears, any kind of liquid. it's testament to the goodwill of the public that they can just be left out in the open for customers to browse.
this is also available at every other bookshop for free. but watch out

As a Canadian Frédéric Back is part of my DNA. I remember watching his shorts in school. I knew he was a big influence on Takahata. Watch this and then Yamadas or Kaguya. The influence is undeniable.

a significant proportion of my job has become 'teaching people how fiction works when your readers don't know the entire premise already'

if discord didn't want children exposed to their vast unmonitored messaging service they could stop marketing sparkly ad powered virtual currency to them for the purpose of better flaunting "I am fourteen years old and credulous" in official public megaservers. just a suggestion.
this wouldn't be A-OK if they were just more discreet about the purposeless invasion of privacy
the discord ID verification thing isn't bad because discord have a track record of exposing people's personal data. it's bad because they have absolutely no right to demand your personal data in the first place. stop driving me up the wall with this talking point.
it's very counter-intuitive to everything we're culturally taught about the basic practical necessity of authority, it demands a mindset shift. which is probably why so many people share the classic "turns out I was already an anarchist, I just didn't know that's what anarchism was" journey
yeah, I've found people struggle to wrap their head around anarchism as social theory/praxis without a 'party' to maintain orthodoxy. from that perspective anarchist writing looks self-contradictory and disorganised. the fluidity and possibility of it has to be experienced to make sense, I think.
a friend once grumbled to me "why do MLs always expect other people to read all their favourite theory first before they'll have a conversation, when I've never met a ML who's done any anarchist reading" and I said, well, because MLs who read anarchist theory become anarchists
too late, she has already designated you a short man who's mad about it. my labelmaker rhetoric remains undefeated, according to this label here.
