Reading about it to get others' takes, I've learned that "unreliable narrator" is a genre (correct term?) I'm realizing that a lot of books I love fit into that category.
Was it a story of mental breakdown from the POV of the afflicted person? If so, how did all the crazy stuff in "after" happen after he got help? Was it all in his head? If so, where did the disappeared people go?
