As A.I. increasingly and undeniably reveals itself to be a very real threat to the authenticity and reliability of digital data and records, I wonder if we're going to see a societal shift - prompted by those at the bottom, up - back to physical record keeping and old school paper trails.

Tova isn't good at doing real questions of significance and her only journalistic value is mean girl shit and creating drama, at which she excels. She was born for this moment in Luxon's leadership death spiral 🍿👀 #nzpol
After Googling what i thought was an oxymoron, yeah, I can see that...
@birmo.bsky.social Hey! Found a copy of Emergence from Napier's top 2nd hand bookstore the other day & chewed through it with great gusto - loved it!

Hey Hastings! I'm coming home for this cool-sounding event
Ministry of Transport has a dashboard of fuel use etc. Private car use down 10% in a week, public transport (in Auckland) up 12% in a week. Wellington up 17%.

#RailNews: Taranaki businesses now have another way to move freight with the launch of a regional hub, designed to provide more reliable transport for exports and imports.

NZ National Party took this post down. Maybe they remembered that their first budget in May 2024 preceded a record-breaking increase in Govt net debt? Or, maybe they realised that it looked like they were going to spend 17% of their budget on 'fuel cost support'!
$90,000 to basically give you personal resilience against the current and future oil shocks. AND also give you energy security in a power failure or natural disaster. If you dont want the EV it is $35,000 all up for energy security
This is what the Government should be doing via policy
Cartoon. Title: “Poll Position” PM Luxon, Leader of the Opposition Chris Hipkins, and New Zealand First leader Winston Peters, atop coloured bars on a bar graph. Luxon has fallen off the second highest bar and is grimly hanging on. Hipkins is perched on the highest bar, and waiting for the budget. And Peters is on the lowest bar, with his hands in the air, grinning.
Poll position.
I don’t think I can stand another eight months of this.

Photo of the RNZ channel on my tv. The banner headline says Chris Hipkins denies misleading public over Covid vaccine risk to teens. The headline remains while the stories underneath roll by. I just happened to catch the vaccine story in my pic.
Shit's hitting the fan, people are struggling, the govt has released a woefully inadequate 'plan' today - and RNZ's banner headline on my TV is:
Chris Hipkins denies misleading public over Covid vaccine for teens

The NZ Govt just spent the last two years introducing policies to make NZ more dependent on fossil fuels, and proudly overturning policies that were reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Now they have some Mickey Mouse national fuel plan. What a joke.
Insiders trading?

yep - 2 minutes on a spreadsheet - using the figures the farmer, McCain, Foodstuffs and Woolworths gave in the article, theres $2 of the $5.79 missing, over 30% of price unexplained. And I dont believe the supermarkets not knowing exactly what that individual product margin is.
Other than my expertise in Napier's twin Countdowns/Woolworths, I swear this Frame has absolutely NO skin in this game!!

WTF, RNZ?!
According to the Commerce Commission in 2022, the supermarket duopoly was reaping >$1 million a day in unjustified and unearned profits, by gouging consumers and suppliers alike. Since then, their margins have increased

A HB farmer gets paid about 60c for 1kg of peas.
McCain sell that 1kg of frozen peas in a supermarket for nearly $6.
McCain still somehow loses millions and their workers lose their jobs.
This isn't a HB problem, so why must HB growers & workers suffer?

Quite interested to see what a LOTRphile like Colbert will come up with. I’d like to think it embraces Tolkien and he wants to come back here to film it 😃 (my son is qualified & wanting to work in the field)

Chlöe's face is all of us as David Seymour peddles his skewed version of how to deal with the current sh*tstorm. There's no pushback from TVNZ's Breakfast presenters, and she's not given any right of reply. "We're out of time." #givemestrength #nzpol #onetermgovernment
But what if – stay with me here – there's a direct relationship between those rigid spending limits and the declining economy? Come on, Thomas, you can't just keep blaming all those missed targets on bad Treasury forecasts.
