For me: Can’t beat “A Christmas Carol”
For my kids:
“The Little Shepherd’s Christmas” by Carol Heyer
“Humphrey’s First Christmas” by Carol Heyer
“Red & Lulu” by Matt Tavares
“Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree” by Robert Barry
“The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg
I’m not a culture warrior. But I couldn’t help but feel a little sad when I counted just 4 books about Christ in the children’s Christmas section (90+ books) at Barnes & Noble in midtown NYC. Surprising? No. But it’s still a bummer.
What’s your favorite Christmas book? See comments for mine.
I’ve been working to fill in some gaps in my spiritual and cultural knowledge.
This week, that looked like reading “A Pilgrim’s Progress” and watching “Die Hard,” both for the first time.
Yippee ki-yay, John Bunyan.
