That % isn't tracked properly, because it includes numbers from incidents involving justified shootings and civilians shot by law enforcement. Itvs just a broad general catagory labeled homicides by firearm.

If the ultimate goal of a gun ban was to reduce the rate of murder, it failed. Access to guns dramatically increased and murder rates either went down or remained the same.

Look at the graph again. Gun control had absolutely no impact on the murder rate. Access to firearms does not make a population magically violent.

The increase in 2019 was caused by the economic downturn of covid. When times are good, and people are financially stable, they don't turn to violence.
