3/ In #Spain for instance, 1 in every 2 people of a migrant background are overqualified for their jobs. The process for “homologación” (degree recognition) lasts years, during which qualified migrants work in menial jobs or do not work at all.
2/ It highlights the structural discrimination against skilled migrants across the EU, and its economic consequences.
The report estimates that the European economy could grow by €33.8 billion if migrants worked the same jobs and earned the same wages as comparable natives ❗
