What should have happened: the REIT paid no tax but the Tice companies holding shares in the REIT paid £98k tax on the dividends they received.
What actually happened: none of the companies paid any tax.
Our new report: Richard Tice signed accounts wrongly claiming £98,000 of tax exemptions

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 stamp duty on her flat, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should immediately resign if she had “any moral decency”.
Now we learn he personally made £91,000 in excess payments by failing to pay the tax his company legally owed

Petition: "Hold a referendum to bring the water industry into public ownership"
While I don't love how this petition is worded, nor much about our water industry operating under public ownership
I do like the idea of Parliament discussing the matter

Richard Tice’s firm broke law by failing to pay £91,000 taxes
The deputy leader of Reform UK owns a property investment company that did not pay tax on dividends before sending profits to a trust registered in Jersey
And now we know Reform UK’s Deputy Leader, Richard Tice, failed to pay £91k in taxes from his property business before routing his profits offshore.
This comes off the back of previous reporting on how he paid almost no corporation tax between 2018-21 despite his company making millions of pounds.

"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope."
Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war.
A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic.
Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope.

Childcare is not a luxury, but the foundation that gives every child the best start in life, writes Bridget Phillipson | LBC
For years, the cost of childcare in this country has been going in one direction: up.
When I became Education Secretary, I said we'd drive a sea change in the way we approached the early years. These stats show our progress:
Childcare costs halved
Working parents now saving £8,000 a year
Cost of a childcare place dropped back to same level as 2005

It is the anniversary of the My Lai massacre today. I'd say that even more than most years, it's important to remember what happened.
And the role Hugh Thompson, an active serviceman, played in both stopping and publicising it. Despite enormous military, political and public pressure to stay quiet.

Our lovely Dad, a devoted husband would always remind us that Mum's psychotic eposodes were due to her illness and was not who she really was. However sometimes being too close to psychosis in loved ones can affect your own mental health so it is important to know your own safe boundaries.

Am I being too cynical in thinking that the BBC intended to be ambiguous with the headline 'It's going to get worse without reform' (they used the inverted commas) when Siobhan Casey ia actually quoted within the paragraph as saying "It's going to get worse unless we can get the reform,"?

I have come to the idea that we have to collectively, brutally, ritualistically kill Target just to show capital that we truly aren’t fucking around.

We'll keep getting right wing governments because the left eats itself, prefering to be critical of the Labour Government even when something good has been done and never, ever listing acheivements

If the BBC doesn't even fact check what is the point in asking fellow social media users to check the facts before they repost and spread lies (although thinking about it, I have not fact checked this story)

Under the last Tory Govt, elected in 2019, of 42 Manifesto Pledges, only
2 were delivered in 5 years.
Under the current Labour Govt, elected in 2024, of 83 Manifesto Pledges, 57 are delivered (18), on track (19), or in process (20).
In 1 year.

I was quite surprised, given the amount of negative press that would have you believe that this government is the worst we’ve had yet.
I’ll put the link in the next post but given we had a complete shit show with the Tories, this is astonishing. Do reshare or bookmark the link, it’s handy.

Me too! On that basis I was very pleased to stop receiving the Winter Fuel Payment so that the money can be used wherever it is needed more. Everyone wants better services but someone else to pay for them, there probably needs to be a rethink of manifesto tax commitments.
