Unlicensed food carts near Seattle stadiums aren’t just a public health issue – workers behind those carts may be victims of coerced labor. Grateful to King 5 for their investigation shining a light on this. Accountability for exploiters protects workers.
“Kiddos are our current and future leaders. Their best interests should be at the heart of every policy we pass and every decision we make.”

I applaud the work of Glory Busic and Emma Shampain to implement the Youth Bill of Rights passed at council.
#TeamTeresa ran into incredible @localprogress.bsky.social partner & artist Kristi Nakata at #GeorgetownArtAttack at @siderailcollective last night! You never know who you'll run into in #D8. Check out her pieces at @kristiknots! www.kristiknots.com

I dropped by the first Starbucks today to show my support for the workers who are forming their union with @sbworkersunited.org Solidarity!
Team Teresa is standing with @aftwa.bsky.social calling on the Board of Community and Technical Colleges to restore funding for the co-op preschool programs in Seattle. It’s a vital resource for not just the kiddos but also the parents to get the skills to help our children succeed.

The World Cup is coming & we’re making sure it leaves behind more than memories. ✊
Today’s HHHS committee heard from MLK Labor, SEIU Local 6, & the Seattle World Cup host committee on building a legacy of prosperity for workers & communities who too often are shut out of mega event planning.

This is the moment we've been working toward. 🚆 West Seattle light rail is shovel-ready for construction – and we're not letting up until it's built. #WestSeattleLightRail #SoundTransit

You can't build half a system. 🚆✊
Wednesday night, West Seattle showed up and made that clear. Youngstown Cultural Arts Center was wall-to-wall neighbors, workers, and advocates – all united behind one message: keep building.
The board decision is coming. We are not stopping now.
The workers at Alesig are uniting to form their union with @teamsters117.bsky.social to have a voice on the job & to be able to provide the best paratransit service to King County residents. I stand with them in their fight for their union and for better wages and benefits! Go, Fight, Win!
Thanks so much to @kuow.org and Libby for hosting Councilmember Barón and me on Soundside to talk about our latest efforts to defend and empower King County’s immigrant community! Catch us tonight at 8pm on the radio or wherever you get your podcasts!
Big day for King County. 🏠✊ Proud to stand with @girmayzahilay.bsky.social as he signed the Breaking the Cycle EO – 500 units of supportive housing in 500 days, activating underutilized land, and coordinating across systems to truly end homelessness. This is leadership. Let's go!

West Seattle is #ShovelReady – and we can’t build half a system. Every delay costs workers, riders, and our climate. Everett to Tacoma. West Seattle to Ballard. Keep building. All of it. 🚊

The coalition showed up. 🚆✊
Labor leaders, transit advocates, and community members packed the @sound-transit.bsky.social board today with one message: keep building. West Seattle. Ballard. Everett to Tacoma. This region's future is on the tracks – don't stop now.
Ferried over to Vashon last week for Vashon Household's Housing Forum & ADU open house – great conversations about removing barriers to backyard cottages, composting toilets, and more affordable housing options on the island. Grateful for this community's tireless advocacy! 🏡⛴️
“Anyone who needs additional medical treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, for anxiety, for addiction issues that they may be facing, for traumatic brain injury, we don’t want to have any additional barriers with potentially seeking medical treatment that could help them,” Mosqueda said.

King County property will not be used to intimidate or detain our immigrant and refugee communities. Today my proposal passed – banning county-owned property from being used for federal immigration enforcement. We will use every tool to keep KC safe for all.
King County just took a historic step. Motion 2026-0017 passed – decriminalizing entheogen-related activities for adults and directing our resources toward real harms, not people seeking healing. Science, community, and compassion won today.
Tomorrow I'm bringing a motion before KC Council to decriminalize entheogens & make prosecution of adults seeking relief the county's lowest enforcement priority. Vets, first responders, researchers, & community members showed up to share why this matters. It's time we stop criminalizing healing.
I continue to stand with @sbworkersunited.org in their fight for a fair contract. No contract, No coffee!
