I think about this constantly and find it liberating... reality is far more complicated and mysterious than anything a human can begin to comprehend.

Yes. I have just accepted that the vast majority of people think about electoral politics that are personal/moral rather than structural.
Forgot about Macha. Very good. Saw them open for Jets to Brazil long enough ago to secure unc status
I think they talked about this on TrueAnon recently, but the chocolate bunny is the most disappointing candy experience. When you bite in expecting all chocolate and its mostly empty space... why anyone would want 10 pounds of that is beyond me
it's spring here so I'm mister fuckin' affable... especially when it comes to rappin' 'bout some 90s indie rock
same. great band.
IMO it ends up sounding like Magnetic Fields
Back when tattoos were a lot less common people used to say "how do you think those are gonna look when you're old" but it didn't work as a deterrent because getting old was fake. They should have said "One day tattoos are gonna be for cops and troops and baseball players who think they're troops."
I'm not knowledgeable about the district and the political dynamics in a crowded field. I will say from my limited experience as a NYC DSA member, this is correct. If you are thinking beyond individuals and developing organizational capacity you can only build from strong showings like this.
I was standing up front at a Jerome's Dream gig during the peak spock rock era and when the dude did a screamo "freak out" he stomped on my foot in these stupid platform shoes and it really hurt. I'm still mad at him.
My midlife version of straight edge before band practice
FWIW Mary Chapin Carpenter's take on Lucinda Williams' Passionate Kisses was the highlight of my day when it came on the K-Mart radio network when I worked there as a stock boy.
We have a little washer/dryer combo thing in our apartment and that thing is loud af. I never run it past 10pm or so.
Have long wanted to start a thrash/hc/poweviolence band with the name Volcker Shock
Not sure if listening to the Xiu Xiu cover will help or hurt with that... at least you won't randomly hear it at Rite Aid.
After a bunch of assholes made money insider trading on the timing of the war, a different group of assholes could be making money for posting lies about the war
They can't even bother to lie to us anymore.
The old iron law of institutions - "The people who control institutions care first and foremost about their power within the institution rather than the power of the institution itself."
NEW: Guards have taken away crayons, colored pencils & paper during recent room searches at Dilley, according to detainees and others. After one inspection, the children just “cried and cried and cried,” a mother said. The facility denies the claims.

The agents entered the campus at around 6:30 this morning, just before a neuroscience researcher posted that “Dhs illegally arrested me. Please help.“

There are no normies. The entire polity is internet poisoned or in a state of senescence with cable tv blaring at them in the background.
Sort of gives away the lie that they're arresting hardened criminals who are drags on society when they're setting up traps to lure in Good Samaritans
It's really the juxtaposition of "You can't make me kill, man" with "You can't make me kill a man" that is the stroke of pure genius.
You can't make me kill, man
You can't make me kill a man
You can't make me kill and
I won't fight your stupid war
I won't fight your stupid war
Sometimes the vegan fake ham you randomly buy at the co-op just hits... and sometimes it really just doesn't.
I know nothing about SI and can't relate to anything you just said...
Sometimes I just step back and remember that if you think of the US state as a homeowners association that facilitates multi-level marketing schemes with a huge military you can generally explain a lot of what happens.
