An excellent distraction whilst plodding along to Shenfield on the Elizabeth Line because the main line trains were borked
OUT NOW - Harry's Home: Phil Davis stars in this @b7media.bsky.social gently funny and emotional audio drama touching upon the day-to-day reality of dementia.
It began as a play staged by a local theatre group, so it's come a long way!
Available from @bandcamp.com, audioteria.com and HEARD.
#Essex people and #radio people! @paulkerensa.bsky.social is at Chelmsford Theatre this week with his highly entertaining talk about the early days of BBC radio. I’ll be lurking in the audience, occasionally muttering about Phyllis Twigg. Book here:

Just to let everyone know that we’ll be adding a couple of very special and exclusive Kickstarter “Dan Dare: First Contact” rewards this week. The first will be announced on Monday. We also hope to reveal @jhwilliams3.bsky.social Hardback cover art by the end of the week too.
His wife - she’s in the empty space next to him in the pic. 😆
Making women over 50 visible?
…And David (the writer’s) own post with the Kickstarter link. Still two weeks left to grab one of the Kickstarter exclusive hardback or paperbacks!
Our Dan Dare project has made it into The Guardian!
SPACE NUTELLA!!
Idiot HooverBot tries to vacuum a shower plughole.
Rocky the HooverBot sends a notification to let me know it is "physical trapped" in the shower.
Got one of those robot vacuum things. Called it Rocky in honour of Project Hail Mary's lovable alien. Left it to its own devices for 5 minutes and it tried to hoover the plughole. Feels appropriate.

Having done the dialogue edit I lived in fear of bees calling my name for days…
Glitchy was awesome!
Thank you. What a nice man.
You know how some words are just better than others? In the latest Listen Through the Brown Window, @jakeyapp.bsky.social and I go head to head in the Word Championships as Scoggins and Stonefrost.

And... there's Elvis.
Brrp brrp dittit!!
Unfortunately this means I have one of these now.
Went to Riga. All that beautiful Art Nouveau architecture and I become fixated on the hotel’s HooverBot instead.
Who needs a BlairCut? See below. New Listen Through the Brown Window episode incoming!
Having attended the recording of one of these, I do agree with the article. It’s not telly, it’s not a podcast either, but something in-between…

Very happy to see Listen Through The Brown Window in the Best Scripted nominations!
“Good but too long” is one of my pet hates. Almost every podcast will benefit from a degree of pruning.
Dan Dare, with all the best and most loved aspects, minus any historical fustiness.
Almost as mouth-dryingly terrifying as getting on the express thinking it stops at Chelmsford and discovering you ain’t getting off that train till Colchester.
A pigeon sits on the outstretched hand of Chelmsford’s Marconi statue. It looks livid.
“Here’s what I think of your radio signals, mate. Putting pigeons out of a job”
The book was the most fun science textbook I ever read.
