In the past 5 years more than 200,000 books have been delivered to more than 10,000 children across Renfrewshire. Over 3400 children receive books from Imagination Library every month. That's over 40,000 bedtime stories every year!

Today P6 developed their skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity🧠 Each group were tasked with creating the largest paper chain possible using only 2 sheets of paper, one pair of scissors and one glue stick. As you can see their hard work paid off! 👏🏼💙

Abbey Nursery in Houston welcomed a very special guest recently! Dolly made a visit to the nursery to support families to sign up to Imagination Library. With Dolly's music, masks (and even her hair style!), the event led to a huge increase in registrations. Well done everyone! 😊📚

Today we welcomed a highland dance teacher into the nursery to help us celebrate St Andrews Day. The children loved trying the steps and moving to the beat. 🏴 They also enjoyed watching children from the dance school perform.

Primary 6 are very thankful to all of the World of Work visitors who came into our class this week. We were very inspired! We learned about the types of industries that we could go into, the qualifications required and the skills we need to develop.

We’ve launched a childcare and nursery consultation to ask what parents and carers needs are in the near future.
The consultation is open until Monday 29 September and takes place every two years.

"We are proud of the dedication shown by staff in our children’s houses who work tirelessly to provide safe, supportive and nurturing environments for our young people," said Renfrewshire Council Education Convener Councillor Emma Rodden.
Two of our Children’s Houses have received positive feedback following inspections by the Care Inspectorate.
Beech Avenue achieve a good grade for it’s warm nurturing relationships and Barochan Road was praised for its supportive living environment.
