And I am sorry for your loss.
I’ve had 8 cats in my life over the years. None of the ones I’ve lost “died quietly in their sleep”; it was always a traumatic experience in a vet’s office that leaves me a wreck. People need to just back off. It could be a month, it could be years, it could be NEVER but that’s your choice to make.
Every single day Trump does something that would have ended any other presidency. Every. Single. Day.
And every single day most people seem to move on to the next thing like it never happened.
I'm so used to spending time with my sis that i get depressed when i do something instinctively like she's there... like we watch youtube together a lot, and sometimes without thinking i automatically put on subtitles bc i always do that for her. i just start crying when i do that, you know?...
It’s infuriating when people with a large presence here screenshot their own Xitter posts. Like, dump that platform already. On that note, just gonna drop this here.
I’m gonna be honest. I really wish people would stop bringing screenshots of dumb Twitter posts over here. The whole reason so many people here left that place is to NOT have to read the stuff. We know it’s dumb. We know it’s rage bait. We don’t need to see it here.
So while everybody’s yukking it up about The Onion, POTUS demanded the nuclear codes to use against Iran, and the 8 kids gunned down in Shreveport quietly disappeared from the news. Yeah, 4/20, right? Turn on, tune in, drop out. Satire will save us.

Oh god, Phil Anschutz? I live in Colorado Springs. He’s the local supervillain who owns the Broadmoor Hotel, Seven Falls and the local rag, The Gazette, where he platforms his conservative nonsense. I didn’t make the connection with AEG.
He will outlive us all.
Colorado Springs may have made some progress.
At the end of the day, though, it’s still bible-thumping, gun-totin’ racist hillbilly hell. I’d like to see the dumbass in the truck out there setting curbs in the heat.
Saw this guy in a tiny dick truck pull up and yell some racist shit at guys finishing concrete work. The workers flipped him the bird and yelled back. Chicken shit made sure the light was changing so he could drive off. Too bad or it may have been “oops that hammer slipped right out of my hand”.

Wouldn’t it be great if no one showed up? Who the fuck wants to come to the US from anywhere else in the world anyway??
We’re stuck in the Stone Age due to the stranglehold US automakers and dealers have on this country.
We can’t have nice things in the US because capitalism. I had a Qualcomm phone in ancient times that you could easily buy a replacement battery for and all you needed to replace it was a star bit screwdriver. They need to go further though and not let Apple brick phones by stopping updates.
I managed an independent used bookstore for over a decade. I argued for an inventory system, but the owners wouldn’t hear of it. So many incredulous callers when I said I had to check the shelf. “Whaddya mean, it’s not in the computer?!” In this day and age, it’s no longer quaint; it’s bad business.
An Adler J5 portable typewriter.
That is beautiful. I had a late 60s Adler J5 for a long time, mostly because my Dad had the same model. It was all business though, didn’t have those soft lines.
I used to manage a bookstore. I always stuck with the posted hours. People still banged on the door if they saw me a full half hour before 9am. I used to be nice about it, but it got so annoying that I’d just point to the sign. We got a couple one star reviews saying “not open posted hours”. WTF?
Wish we had HEB in Colorado. Our choices are Kroger, Safeway or Wal-Mart and they all suck. Supposedly we’re getting Aldi, and that could be a game changer.
Is Publix still like this? Years ago they didn’t have a savings club but that may have changed.
Aldi’s is coming to Colorado finally. There’s a dead Safeway within walking distance that still has all the fixtures and coolers; I’ve contacted Aldi corporate about it but haven’t heard anything back.
It’s the guns.
The U.S. sees more gun violence and death than any other peer nation
because of the 2nd Amendment and, more specifically,
America’s lack of reasonable gun laws.

Five bags of groceries = at minimum $225 now. We’re not buying unnecessary crap. Staples, store brands, clipping coupons, using the fucking app and we can’t get out of the store under $200 anymore. It was gradual enough that it didn’t seem so bad at first, but it’s very bad.
