Lots of talk about “crutches” in the self-driving space wrt lidar. The ultimate crutches imo are 1) in-person supervision (drivers ed cars with an extra brake pedal) and 2) no liability (all the credit none of the blame). Ultimately these things /must/ be removed before driverless. Lidar, maybe.
