I'm angry about the wars and the greed and the ignorance.
How are some men allowed to cause so much destruction?

The composition is restrained and balanced. Subtle gradients and muted tonesโlike pale greens, greys, whites, and gentle bluesโcreate a hazy field that suggests fog lifting over land or water. Forms are simplified, reduced to faint horizontal or vertical structures, giving the impression of distant horizons or barely visible terrain. What makes the work distinctive is Nakamuraโs interest in underlying order. Even in something as ephemeral as mist, thereโs a sense of structure: delicate repetition, controlled spacing, and an almost grid-like logic beneath the surface. This reflects his broader engagement with pattern, number, and systemsโideas he explored throughout his career. The mood is contemplative and still. Thereโs no dramatic focal point; instead, the viewer is invited to slow down and notice subtle shifts in tone and texture. The painting feels quiet, meditative, and expansive, capturing not just a visual scene but a state of mindโwhere nature, perception, and abstraction gently merge.

Rather than depicting a literal landscape, the painting evokes the sensation of early morning atmosphereโsoft, suspended, and almost mathematical in its calm.

Dismantling Voice of America was one of the most devastating things Iโve witnessed. VOA wasnโt propaganda, it was proof that free press could criticize its own leaders and still survive. And now weโre throwing away one of our greatest tools of freedom.
First and last.
Seth, hand over that recipe!
I've been wondering about that. It's terrifying. Every war, every atrocity is bound to create new monsters, far into the future.
Despicable.

Danke fรผr diesen ausfรผhrlichen Thread. Es wird Zeit fรผr Gegensteuer!
I think of how many lives he's taken... and those numbers are not imaginary.
That's true. It is also true that the US cabinet, their leader and the senate consist of a bunch of incompetent lunatics, or so it seems. Maybe it's both, idiocy ๐๐๐ intent.
Really? How so?
CN Tod
My guess would be idiocy.
A scene of two women seated on a balcony overlooking a garden with a fountain. One sitting on a chair, plays a stringed instrument while the other sitting on the ground listens, creating a moment of calm, shared attention and harmony. Although the title references the Renaissance, the painting is not strictly historical in style. Instead, it reflects Possozโs modernist sensibility, combining: Soft, pastel colors and delicate tones Simplified forms influenced by early 20th-century modernism A dreamlike, serene atmosphere rather than realistic detail This creates a feeling of timelessnessโlike a memory or fantasy of the Renaissance rather than a literal depiction.

โA Renaissance Dreamโ can be understood as a fusion of past and present: It borrows the elegance and calm of Renaissance imagery, but expresses it through modern, simplified forms and gentle colour.

The scene captures a sunlit meadow bordered by trees, likely in early spring. What gives the painting its titleโand its quiet magicโis the play of shadows moving across the ground. These โflying shadowsโ are cast by clouds drifting overhead, creating soft, shifting patches of cool blue and violet that glide over the warm, golden earth. The contrast between sunlight and shadow animates the landscape, making it feel alive and transient.

Flying Shadows is less about a specific place and more about perceptionโhow light, air, and motion transform an ordinary landscape into something momentarily extraordinary.

Aber alles kommt ja irgendwo her.
Three storks standing together in their habitat, each looking in another direction. The brushwork echoes Chinese ink paintingโfluid, expressive, and economical. The colour palette is muted but emotionally charged, with soft blues, greys, and earthy tones creating a contemplative mood. The structure and form show Western influence, especially in composition and the subtle use of volume. The result is neither purely traditional nor fully Westernโit sits in a distinctive middle ground that defines Linโs style.

Lin Fengmian was known for blending Chinese ink traditions with Western modernist influences, and this painting reflects that fusion.

Ach schรถn!
Na dann Prost!
Sounds like the point is to hurt people.
They campaigned "we wanna get rid of the criminals, who hurt your women and children", that was never true. The criminals are in the White House and innocent people are needlessly suffering in torture camps, including women and children.
Fluffy white cloud in the deep blue sky.
I don't really care about blasphemy, but I care about the blatant lies and misjudgments that we witness daily from the US government. They cost not only the nerves but the actual lives and the well being of innocent people.
Nobody talks about Gaza anymore. I found it hard to find some recent news about the situation there.
