In the troubling times we live in I often find solace in stories.
Stories of human potential. Some taken from history, most just fantasy. Fantasy that speaks more like a long wish than fiction.
I've always been a believer that we, humans, are capable of kindness, compassion, and understanding.

The prevailing parenting style being pushed throughout the mid 1900s was an authoritarian style, leveraged for fieldy and obedience over self-efficacy and critical thinking.

As the more consistent truth is that as resources are more abundant and return on Labor is high gender roles tend to disappear and even aspects of sexual/gender discrimination fade as well.
A lot of anthropologists see the gendered roles as division of labor, but despite it's prevalence, it largely doesn't hold up as a "natural" division.
Too many exceptions to claim it is a natural state. Almost like never division is made up based on social/political/religious reason (make believe)
