A very large moose travelling through very deep snow (photo captured by a trail camera on our property).
We use the 'Moose Scale" for measuring snow depth in the South Cariboo.

Thank you so much for reading and enjoying the piece, Misako! Yes, I'm very much the same way too πΊπ
Please don't ever hesitate to leave a comment as well on the site at the end of the piece - I can assure you that the author will always appreciate hearing from a kindred spirit π

Yes, it's a Werthers Original π (actually it's a Scurfy Twiglet)
ππ
Thanks so much, Alina! π
It's not uncommon around here, and is a local cutie π
Scurfy Twiglet (Tubaria furfuracea) mushroom attached to wood. Mature specimen, with a somewhat depressed cap and edges are upturned exposing the gills underneath. Cap and gills are a light caramel colour at this stage.
Scurfy Saturday

Very healthy! π
Hi Luis! π
A young Deer Mushroom (Pluteus species); cap is slightly bell-shaped with a faint umbo, colouring is very pale brown and the scaly surface has a very grainy, cottony appearance at this stage.
Lovely coat on this Deer Mushroom.

So very lovely, Misako!
Cluster of fresh Pinewood Gingertail (Xeromphalina campanella) mushrooms growing on an old, fallen conifer log. Caps are bright orange with a central depression and have a bit of a glittery appearance under the sunlight at this stage.
Little orange gems.

Haha! I probably would have said "Doctor Zhivago" because it starred the world renowned bridge player Omar Sharif.
"Silver, Blood and Scissors: Protection against Witchcraft in an English County" by Hilary Sparkes (@warksfolklore.bsky.social) is the latest feature in the RGG, and is a fascinating look at one of the more interesting aspects of life in an English region.
