"They say they're coming to save us from some evil? They're talking about our neighbors who take care of us ... Alex was murdered while he was helping. Mr Rogers said look for the helpers, & right now the helpers have a target on our forehead ... Mr Rogers would be here right now too, so I'm here."

Currently rewatching Smallville and itโ€™s a glorious slow burn. Half the episodes would be throwaways except they all have little kernels of moving the relationships or plot forward. Immaculate vibes for 200 episodes.

PB nonfiction: I love STEM topics and stories exploring the natural world, but has to be more narrative-driven rather than just facts. I probably have my fill of outer space at the moment, but earthbound subjects and overlooked figures are more than welcome!

PB fiction: another great place for the intersection of humor and heart! I love narrative driven stories that are about character journeys, and less interested in concept/message driven books. 2 reigning faves are Stumpkin and Pokko and the Drum.

MG: escapism is really the key word here! I love action and adventure whether itโ€™s contemporary like Spy School or fantasy like Wilderlore. Iโ€™m drawn to big hearted emotions, wondrous magic, and zany humor

YA: thrillers and suspense, I especially like unreliable narrators, locked room settings and time clocks. Fast paced action is a little more my vibe than slow burn mystery.

YA: fantasy/speculative with easy entry/accessible worldbuilding, or contemporary settings with magical elements like monsters or witchcraft. Either propulsive like a VE Schwab or cozy like the Spellshop or Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Open to crossover but has to have that teen voice.

YA: Romance! I love forbidden/star crossed lovers, forced proximity, enemies/rivals to lovers and low stakes feel-good love stories including queer stories! Open to both contemporary, romantasy, fantasy subplots, the works!

Overall! Iโ€™m really drawn to characters in impossible situations, immersive settings, imaginative world building, and witty humor. My taste is super escapist lately so itโ€™s fine if you make me cry but I need a happy or hopeful ending (i beg)

The only downside to the traitors being all celebs is that every elimination hurts. Especially that last one, please nobody talk to me for at least three business days.

For all the cursed episodes of supernatural in existence, the season 3 Christmas episode still makes me misty every time
