As a starting point, may I suggest the rOtring 600 Drafting Pencil? www.jetpens.com/Rotring-600-...
Thereās also the Namisu Pulsar as a nice step up: www.penaddict.com/blog/2024/1/...
Even from space, we can all agree that maple syrup belongs on pancakes.
Safe journey home to Colonel Jeremy Hansen and the entire Artemis II crew.

I loved this weird game so much. I should figure out how to play the sequel.
Iām assuming the cigarette/curlers lamb is a tribute to the landlady from Kung Fu Hustle? If so, Iām here for that!
Whoa! Heck yeah! I was such a fan of these games, in part because of The Designers Republic work on it. I loved the game and the music of course, but this was my first introduction to TDRās work. I really loved their style.

Iām definitely here for #5!
I certainly endeavour to be a āweird little guy (complementary)ā, or at least a ātechnology goblin (not awful)ā.
Aww! Poor Froggy! Hope yāall are feeling better soon!
There's something really powerful about seeing our planet peaking out from the corner of a spaceship's window. Terrible things are happening on earth at the moment, but there are also people on a journey to fly around the freaking moon!
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

Apple at 50: My journey to the Mac
Growing up, I hated Apple the way only an arrogant teenager could. Who in their right mind would buy an overpriced toy instead of a āreal computerā? Hereās how I switched to the Mac, and hav... anderegg.ca/2026/04/01/apple-at-50-m...
This was a really great project, and I'm excited for The Vergecast on Friday!
Yippee!
Haha! Iād probably put an order in! (if it wasnāt today)
Another day, another supply chain attack, this time Axios: github.com/axios/axios/...
Makes me glad I'm lazy and intentional about dependency updates. But it's a worrying trend. Soon we'll be tracking these things by the hour.
@gruber.foo Good news!
A screenshot of a blank window corner in macOS Tahoe 26.4. A mouse pointer is showing the window resize icon, and the cursor is positioned well inside the window. You can also see that the scrollbar is all the way at the bottom, but the bottom is above the corner radius. This means that it's no longer showing under the window corner as in previous versions.
A screenshot of another corner of a blank window in macOS Tahoe 26.4. This one has a smaller radius than the one above. The scroll bar is this time at the very bottom, and clips under the corner even though the corner is smaller.

Liquid Glass updates in 26.4
anderegg.ca/2026/03/29/liquid-glass-...
A screenshot of the Search element in macOS 26.4. In previous versions of the 26 OSs, the "Search" text in that element would be a blurry mess because it's currently overlapping other text below it. Here it's very readable.
Settings in macOS and iPadOS have had a tweak to how the Liquid Glass "Search" element works. It now is much more opaque, leading to fewer instances where it can be completely unreadable. There are still places where this can happen, but Apple seems to be fixing them as people complain.
Safari in macOS 26.4 also got a tweak to how its tabs work. They now have a Liquid Glass effect and a better animation when "torn off". I really dislike 26's tab design, but at least this is more consistent with the rest of the OSs.
A screenshot of the Safari in iPadOS 26.4 showing a PDF of the rules to the board game "Innovation" (4th edition). The top UI has a clear but blurred background instead of the usual mostly opaque background. This seems to only happen when viewing PDFs, and only on iPadOS.
On iPadOS 26.4 in Safari, PDFs in mostly remove the UI background. As with many Liquid Glass changes, it's hard to tell if this is a bug or not. It's an interesting effect when just looking at a screenshot, but in practice, I find this incredibly distracting.
