I can see how the franchise is so beloved and why other games like Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, Ninja Gaiden and more takes the idea of interesting characters being over the top in fun amazing combat while being satisfied with how you improve throughout the journey.
The vibe of this game is SICK AF with the metal rock music playing in combat and how much of a charismatic punk Dante is. Lady is also very interesting too she is so badass with a satisfying resolve in the story of the game. Her dynamic with Dante really builds them to be better.
Platforming isn't the greatest, but exploration is interesting as you can find secret missions, orbs or other items. You are always rewarded with something even if you stumble to more enemies on the way.
It makes you want to try to test everything out and find your favorites while also upgrading these weapons to even further increase your combo potential. It's all so good and satisfying to build your combo meter.
Utilizing the many blades and guns you find along the journey while having so many options to switch from them and your style makes comboing so deep and rich.
DMC3 was an amazing experience to play for the first time. Getting into and understanding the series that revolutionize the character action genre of games I can see why many games after take such inspiration from πββοΈ

Honestly worth a try. It cuts the levels in half but the gameplay is still there and extra modes and difficulties unlock after the story ends so it surprisingly has a lot to do for what it is
