Today I attended the Bus Manufacturing Roundtable, hosted by Heidi Alexander & Simon Lightwood, who are both pressing to expedite new bus orders & back British manufacturing at bus builders like Alexander Dennis in Eastfield, Scarborough.
Improving men’s mental health is deeply personal to me, this morning I talked to BBC Radio York about my experiences and why my Men’s Mental Health Fund is so important to help more men across York and North Yorkshire get the help and support they need and deserve.
Really proud today to get two funds approved that are incredibly close to my heart. These funds will have a proper launch in the Autumn, but it’s great to finally confirm this work today!
Today marks a new era for affordable housing in our region. The Affordable Homes Standards establishes for the first time in York and North Yorkshire a benchmark for what affordable housing should look like. 🏡

York and North Yorkshire is open for business, and this week I took that message to the UK's largest housing and infrastructure conference.
Today on VE Day, we remember the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for peace and freedom.
It marked the end of war in Europe, and the start of communities rebuilding with hope.
It’s an incredible honour to represent our region at the National Service of Thanksgiving in Westminster Abbey.
One year as Mayor of York and North Yorkshire - it's been a whirlwind. I'm so grateful and proud to have had the opportunity to meet people right across our beautiful region and be the first mayor to give York and North Yorkshire a voice on the national stage.
