Oooooo I just read the description! An episode about responding to state and local budget crisis you say?! Never heard of it!
[kicks “SAVE MUNI AND BART SIGN HERE” signs and signature sheets under rug]
Excited to listen! :)

We sure are lmao
The concepts of “weeds” as a cultural blight and lawns being fashion weren’t philosophical thoughts I expected to have today. There’s gotta be a metaphor for NIMBYism in here somewhere.
Anyway, leave it to Ben Wilson on @theoverheadwire.com’s Talking Headways to get the thoughts growing! 🌱
Last week I joined a spicy panel asking whether/how AVs fit into NYC. Here's a summary.
Me: "It’s just too inefficient to have individuals inside a big box of a car. I don’t care how it’s operated. That’s just not how what you scale to make New York City a faster, more-efficient and safer place."
“We’re dudemaxxing.” needs to be the slogan for an after hours 🏳️🌈 party 😹
Could you imagine a BART ride without an active speaker phone call?! Oh to dream! 🙃
Worth repeating infinite times. All of these things are intertwined at their cores.
A @carterlavin.bsky.social spotted in the wild! 😻✨🎉
Fund the bus!
Met an older gentleman on his way to have some tasty soup. He lives off the 35 route and was absolutely devastated to hear that his only form of transportation besides walking may go away.
I gave him a bunch of flyers to give to his neighbors in Diamond Heights, anyone can be an advocate!
Had a great few hours connecting with local Castro folks talking about what the ballot measure does and what’s at stake.
If these measures don’t pass, we may lose the 33, 35, 37, and F.
Posting up near Castro and 18th to collect signatures for @connectbayarea.bsky.social’s regional transit ballot measure until at least 3pm today! 🚎✨🏳️🌈
I’m wearing a MUNI shirt and holding a clipboard! Swing by if you’ve been looking to sign or just to say hi! 😻
[paywall is easy to get by and is very worth the effort to skip]
This article tells the perfect story of external forces expecting tradition versus what current residents want and need.
@siegman.biz, thanks a ton for landing this article in my feed! Tastes like hope and progress. 🫡🚫🅿️
This story is horrifying, all of the trigger warnings. My heart aches for the victim and those in their circle.
Tell me again that cars aren’t weapons. Tell me again that “cars vs guns” isn’t a real argument. Tell me again that pedestrians are reckless.

🚨 BR8KING NEWS!!! 🚨

Come join us to Rally for The L8 and show support!
Nothing hits in signature gathering to fund Bay Area transit like someone who has already signed walking right up to you and making their friends sign. 😹😻
San Francisco would make sooo much money with this
This is one of my favorite pieces to the ballot measure @connectbayarea.bsky.social is working on. It calms the waters so our transit agencies can focus on swimming instead of drowning.
If you haven’t signed to get it on the ballot in November, we need you to ASAP! Time is running out to save BART.
One piece to the puzzle of improving BART service is stabilizing their operational revenue in some capacity. Instead of putting resources into figuring out how to do more with less, they can dedicate those resources to strengthening service and securing more revenue.
Even F cars have to sleep! 🚋💤
A PCC stopped for a break before embarking on an eastbound trip of the F Market route.
I’m so lucky to live in a place where these roll down my street every day.
I can’t make it, but these are always a blast! Highly encourage anyone who hasn’t gone to give it a shot!
I had a line for people who wanted to sign to get the ballot measures to save Bay Area transit on the ballot…
… and it was longer than the line for drinks!
There are a ton of people out there still who want to sign, we just have to find them! 🫡🎉
This video touches on so much of the problematic foundational practice and policy of California’s urban thinking through the lens of the Bay Area.
From SMART to street meat, Prop 13 to Pliny the Younger, Ghirardelli to generational hoarding. @nerd4cities.bsky.social has you covered, as always.
@dinopoloclub.bsky.social literally willed this into existence.
(At least in my timeline)
Kia ora, tereina
I got this look earlier when I said that kids don’t play outside anymore because streets are dangerous.
Let the record show
+1
Sorry I didn’t make it, I accidentally clicked on an hour long video explaining bait, rocks, and ball capture rates in the Safari Zone of Pokémon and I’m no quitter.
