I'm getting ready for a sojourn into the outdoors this weekend. It's a place I've been many times. My writer's retreat for a lot of my 9th book. This time I'm bringing a new Boon Companion ™️ and our dog. Four nights of campfires and hopefully clear skies full of stars.

This is how whimsy leads to epiphany that leads to joy. These are the adventures we need to have in dark times, a reminder that there is a wider world out there.

Also, birbs. ✨

Welcome news. Apple has needed a new CEO for a while.

Maybe they'll start making a nice thing again?

A lot of what I wrote about was wealth sequestration and a looming fiscal apocalypse. Debt as equity systems where people were born into owing money borrowed by their parents, and grandparents. I thought it would be a slick accounting type thing, not a second gilded age. 😑

Working on my 10th Dystopian Scifi novella. It's hard going with the reality we live in these days. Stuff I didn't put into my story due to being implausible, stupid, or cruel is happening in reality before my eyes.

Maybe I should just switch to romance, or fantasy. 😐

The masks have been off for a while. Not sure why they get so offended at being properly categorized for context as we move forward.

At the time, Tyson had a near monopoly on chromium production, was the world's largest chrome pigment supplier, and had expanded his operations to England. It would be pretty noteworthy if Van Gogh's yellow pigments hadn't originated from the Baltimore Ultramafic Complex.

Andrew's posts, while deeply informative, spur me to engineer improbable ocean-based adventures for my D&D games. Journeys to mountain tops and eerie swamps are sidetracked and back burnered for saltwater and surf.

Friday, my players will be racing giant seahorses for gold and glory.

Usually, despots of this nature have some self-awareness. American Authoritarianism has no fear of the optics that come with murdering millions of innocent people via bombs, exposure, and starvation. Masks completely off at every level.

Once we were just kids with plans This month, The Counteroffensive turns three. We share our childhood dreams that shaped who they are today.

Congratulations to The Counteroffensive and @timkmak.bsky.social on their third anniversary. Compelling stories published under war time conditions, so a more lighthearted look at where who they were as kids and how they ended up in journalism today is a good way to celebrate.

I'm very suspicious of anything KK does that remotely looks like (a) competence, or (b) anything pertaining to his actual job in Kansas.

I'm okay with it. It's time to seek out something else. A federated Internet might have to be the way forward with people being the relay. Make a digital place free of paywalls, billionaires, and corporations.
