The NO KINGS Act just cleared the House. It’s a constitutional amendment to overturn Trump v. United States and make clear that presidents and vice presidents can be prosecuted for crimes they commit in office—official acts included.
Backstory for tonight's victory in Virginia. 🔺🐘❤️
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Really exciting news today. My short story “Six People to Revise You” is a Hugo finalist!
Congrats to all the finalists! See you in Anaheim!!!

Texas republicans illegally gerrymandered their maps and never once asked voters how they feel about it.
California and Virginia let voters decide.
That’s the difference. They started this fight and Democrats are going to fucking finish it.

A dog poses on a table. He's surrounded by a tailor's measuring tape.
Every time this tailor posts a photo of their workspace, it looks like their dog is a tailor and he's showing off the garments he made.

Virginia’s redistricting victory has L. Louise Lucas’ fingerprints all over it.
Read @lauren-egan.bsky.social's profile on the 82-year-old shitposting powerhouse who helped drag Democrats into the battle:
That is gorgeous!!

Bird nests made from anti-bird spikes?! 🤯
Hi, I'm a nest researcher 👋 and new here on BlueSky, sharing the craziest #bird nests I've ever found. 👀 Today, I’m sharing my discovery of rebellious birds that build nests out of anti-bird spikes. And honestly, it's like telling a joke...
A thread. 🧵

As a writer, I'm tired of settling for a pittance. I'm beyond exhausted at being told "this is the best you can get." I'm done with the world's richest people and companies stealing my stories and acting as if theft isn't theft when they do it. 2/
The Anthropic book theft settlement is essentially done, but many more battles remain. I also agree with Catherynne M. Valente's recent essay calling the settlement "blood money." 1/

Wolfpack is OUT!
The sequel to Foxhunt, this queer solarpunk adventure features our favourite disaster bard Orfeus climbing to new heights to forge her own way ... but can you really escape the bloodstained past you inherit?

from this morning's Publishers Lunch: (black text on white) [small pen nib icon] Imprints: Tucker Carlson Books [blue text] Skyhorse Publishing will launch a new imprint with media host Tucker Carlson. The imprint is a partnership with Carlson's media company, which has a revenue sharing agreement with the publisher, according to the WSJ. Carlson and his business partner Neil Patel "also launched a precious metals company and a nicotine pouch company." The first list will include Russell Brand’s How To Become a Christian In Seven Days, Milo Yiannopoulos’ Ex Gay, and Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong's Killing Cancer. Brand's literary agent and previous UK publisher, Bluebird Books dropped the author due to sexual assault allegations. Brand faces rape and sexual assault charges, which he has denied, in the UK. Simon & Schuster canceled a book by Yiannopoulos in 2017 after a video surfaced in which he seemed to express approval for grown men having sex with underage boys; Yiannopoulos eventually self-published.
If you didn't know what sort of publisher Skyhorse Publishing was before, well, now you do.

that begs the question though: in a court of law, if someone claims they were "trapped" behind a series of puzzles that they absolutely have the ability to solve but refuse to so as not to piss off their girlfriend, is that still kidnapping
Tiny story day!
I didn't do this in March, but I'm back! Drop a comment in the thread and get a tiny story just for you. If you'd like a prompt, feel free to riff off of any sort of transportation.
I'll get to these through the rest of the month, and hopefully you'll get something fun to enjoy.
Oof, so...guess what? Due to a very frustrating mistake, I had to temporarily "unpublish" my preorder option for A Waltz of Sinister Import (#3 in the Unexpected Adventures of Lady & Lord Riven)...which lost every one of its 200+ preorders! 😱
I am SO sorry for the inconvenience and frustration. 1/2

A mysterious app is daring people to increasingly impossible things for a chance at fame. The feats seem so ridiculous that nobody notices they might have some altruistic sides. Could the app have an agenda...?
Donald Trump threatening the destruction of an entire civilization is madness.
He is completely unfit to serve as President of the United States.
Invoke the 25th Amendment. Or Republicans must stand up with us to impeach him. We cannot allow him to set fire to the world.
I think one of the reasons why Artemis II had us all so captivated was that it was one of those times where we feel on such a visceral level what Carl Sagan got across in his Pale Blue Dot monologue: that we are simultaneously tiny and precious and we need each other youtu.be/wupToqz1e2g?...
