Not to brag but I ran like 3 errands today and made a BUNCH of boring calls.
You're fighting the good fight
Normal person, seeing accessibility features: "I don't have this issue so I never realized others had trouble accessing this, it's cool they added this."
Far right folks: "The existence of these accomodations for others makes my LIFE NOT WORTH LIVING."
My biggest shock was finding out a close family member believed something along these lines.
Also I'm obviously not agreeing with the premise in the post, but justifying discrimination based on perceived hustle is so embedded in capitalism.
I had not connected before
That the capitalist mantra, productivity = worth, is tied into white supremacy
Its like googling "is [x] company legit" doesn't even mean anything anymore
Personally, I would just NOT do podcasts with people named "Knitler"
Oh I'm scrolling through and they do have good stuff
I tried sending some posts to my husband but he did not understand why they were funny.
"It's showing multiple yarn overs for sc" it's HYSTERICAL ok
Idk what it is but scrolling through r/kroshay (the subreddit for ai crochet slop) is life giving
I am SO READY to sew some weird, hot girl summer clothes. To refine my craft, to sew weirder and weirder things each day.
But I have a weird tendon problem and I can't bend over or sit up for long periods so I'm sad
I'm not as embedded in the sewist community here, but anyone have good recs for where to get:
Apparel fabric that has vivid colors and bright prints. Like prints that are seen in quilting cotton.
And patterns that are a little more unusual. Any skill level.
"oh your house is mes--" THATS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS
A giant orange and white cat lying on a messy couch and my arm is scratching his chin and he's stretching in happiness
Look at him. He's addicted to getting scritched
I dunno how long that will take, but creative people - when AI people all come crawling back to you, demand they pay high (and give real jobs)
But, obviously. Even these smart tech bros can't know everything. And sometimes theory and data is important, so things start to suck again and 3ish yrs later I see huge swaths of job postings (still contracts)
Ok so in my subfield, there's been this pattern where every 3ish years tech bros realize their product sucks too much to sell and then they hire a ton of specialists (previously me)
But just "indefinite" contract work
And as soon as they think they can do without us, everyone's gradually fired
I am parsing everything all kinds of weird right now smh
Never in my life have I made all my quarterlies on time or correctly, so truly bravo
Seriously. I had to pay so much extra just to get a reasonable amount of memory for my pixel
Beautiful edges
I mean I do have digital media because it's impossible not to. But I don't like it.
If we are talking tech stuff, I'm so anti digital copies of games, music, movies.
Also all cellphones should have a removable battery and SD card slot
The way it never crossed my mind, as a mom of a preteen boy who I love very much, to be like. How will this (sexual abuse/harassment case) affect my SON
Like aren't we trying to raise children who don't do that. I can't even fathom how you would assume your kid would be in that position
I itemized on my own this year, thought I could do things accountantless, and not only do I now hate myself and my spending habits, but I also also hate everything else in the world, so that's neat
What cast on is your favorite then? I do long tail exactly because it's fast and quick
I used a similar yarn to teach kids "hand knitting," not knitting by hand but the little sister to arm knitting. It's pretty cool.
