idk. I think nintendo will not want to use their limited supply of Ram to keep the switch 1 going. I see that for the PS5, but I think pretty soon switch 1's are going to stop being manufactured. I could be wrong though.

if they don't increase prices, they will lose significant money per console sold, thus investments dry up, thus layoffs. Not much can be done here (except maybe we could vote better in the future)

I feel what they will do is further improve the more expensive tier and then kill the 20 dollar one. Long term I just don't see them keeping a 20 dollar tier :/

Yes it is hardware, but it's also software. We used to have stuff like Nintendo selects/PlayStation Greatest Hits that made a lot of older games accessible to the poor. But BOTW for switch 1 still holds it's original MSRP.

I think it sucks that gaming is becoming less and less accessible to the poor. Even the cheapest console, the switch 2, is far less accessible than it should be.
