Texas bill could punish bookstores for 'obscene' books A new bill in the Texas Legislature, authored by Rep. Nate Schatzline, would allow businesses to be held liable if a minor reports damages from "obscene" books.

It was never just about schools, it was never just about libraries, and it isn't actually about the books.

It's about finding a way to banish entire people, entire ideas, out of society, back into the closet or worse.

What I’m reading on the plane. We all need to do what we can, when we can. If all you can do today to contribute is learn something about authoritarianism that you didn’t know before, that’s good enough. A little is better than none. Keep going.

Oregon - it’s never been so dire of a time as now to advocate for fully funded schools. @tinakotek.bsky.social & our elected leaders MUST fund to QEM. Education is the answer to a better Oregon. We deserve that.

FAA says a military helicopter collided with the American Airlines passenger jet from Wichita near DCA.

There must be immediate hearings on how the federal government/Department of Defense allowed this to happen and if removal of safety protocols and recent personnel changes led to this incident.

It’s far too soon to ascribe responsibility for the horrific DC plane collision, but it’s not too soon to say that dismantling the safeguards afforded by a functioning federal government put us at significant risk. And it’s irrefutable that, since January 20th, we are all less safe.

Consider that to fly a blackhawk helicopter are select top pilots.
