Yesterday's city council presidential election was rough. Not sure how EPG comes back from this, to be honest. Not a good look.

Ok, came here after six months to see if anyone knows why city council is on a sudden, long, recess. Can't find anything. Anyone have an idea?

Team Candace right here. Just say No to District 4 council presidents please. Though, if Candace doesn't get it, I can see Elana being a bridge candidate.

As a a current and a past co-chair of GTAC, I can tell you that I've heard many of our members dealing with the feelings that come along with what Sameer is describing here. The citizen bodies can be a much greater asset to our city than they currently are.

From what I hear, this will change very quickly. They will have more staff.

My Senator.

I believe the additional money for school also takes into account Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) increases. Some were afraid it wouldn't, so I hope I'm right. This doesn't get us what Oregon's own Quality Education Model calls for, but it's a start.

The rule is currently that the refs have to witness the racism, not just be told it happened. Some players are saying it happens right in front of the refs and they say they didn't hear anything.

This is unacceptable. The OSAA is not doing enough - something needs to change.

New council, new mayor, new system of government to set up... All with a tighter budget. The council will be working with a small support staff, too. This will not be easy.

Democrats win supermajority in Oregon House as Muñoz scores upset in Woodburn-area district Labor organizer Lesly Muñoz scored a come-from-behind victory in the race.

A special shout out to all who helped cure ballots! Wouldn't have happened without the hard work of Rep-elect Muñoz and team. I've also heard PCUN had a huge role in winning this race. Thanks all! Here's to hoping we actually do something with the supermajority!

Pension spikes will cost Oregon public employers $1.8B in the next biennium: ‘It will be more intense before it gets less’ Expiring PERS side accounts are driving dramatic pension cost increases for some Oregon employers.

This is causing huge problems for, often already underwater, school district budgets.

This right here. Money in politics is THE problem. You can't fix anything until you fix that.

From "On Tyranny" a book I did not want to read. But it has become necessary.

I started a list of all the Oregon elected officials, state level and beyond. Please let me know if I missed one or if you see someone new join the platform. Thanks so much!

Six Newly Elected City Councilors Want to Be Council President. What Are Their Chances?

Olivia Clark should not be in the top three. I hope the seven progressives do not let that happen. I think Candace rises to the top, with Elana or Steve as possible spoilers.

I say that she doesn't get it. She's too pro-union...

This is just gross.

And they have to do it all with only one staff member each.
