At the Sigonella Air Base in Sicily, Minister @yurikobackes.bsky.social visited the aerial assets for maritime surveillance that Luxembourg Defence is contributing to EUNAVFOR MED IRINI. An essential contribution for the EU Operation to fulfil its tasks.

Minister of Defence @yurikobackes.bsky.social visited the NATO Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Force #NISRF and met with force commander Brigadier General John B. Creel.
Luxembourg Defence is providing satellite communications for the RQ-4D Phoenix and the Allied ISR Forces.

In Rome, at the EUNAVFOR MED IRINI Mission Headquarters, Minister @yurikobackes.bsky.social met with Operation Commander Rear Admiral Casapieri. Since 2020, IRINI implements the United Nations arms embargo on Libya & enhances EU maritime situational awareness in the Mediterranean.
