We spend so much energy being anti–the other party (Dems + Repubs alike) treating the opposition as the biggest threat to society. But the truth is, the most transformative force shaping our future isn’t partisan at all it’s AI. We’re not paying nearly enough attention to it from a govt standpoint

Jersey City was ahead of the curve on cannabis legalization and now we’re reinvesting that revenue into free summer programming for kids across our neighborhoods.

Just a few years ago, a project like this was unthinkable on Jersey City’s West Side. Today, I cut the ribbon on The Verde, 155 new units (10% affordable) near Lincoln Park. Proof of the progress + momentum we’ve built on the West Side. The story is changing.

12 yrs ago tomorrow, I was sworn in as mayor of #JerseyCity. I still remember the excitement + you can see from this photo the city felt it too. That moment kicked off the most ambitious chapter in our city’s modern history +today, JC is one of the best midsize cities in the U.S.

And we’re starting traffic studies now to explore No Turn on Red being thoughtful on where/how to implement across JC. We’re aiming to move on this by year’s end too.

Also coming:
🗓️ November: we’ll propose reducing citywide speed limits to 20 MPH. We’ll petition the state + aim to finalize before year-end.

Both pairs would become one-way: one northbound, one southbound. Major safety upgrade ahead

Current setup: 4 lanes (2 each way).
Proposed:
✅ 1 lane northbound
✅ 1 lane southbound
✅ 1 lane for protected bike lanes
✅ 1 lane for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)

A healthy city is a growing city that attracts private investment. We have done that in Jersey City better than any other city in the region. Today we broke ground on another 675 units, $400m project. Abundance theory is about more supply + we understand that in Jc

Before/After pictures - we cut the ribbon today on the new park Pavonia Marion. Over the last decade, there isn’t a city in NJ that has accomplished more than we have around open space + park improvements. #JerseyCity

Didn’t go the way we hoped last night, but I’m incredibly grateful. I’m proud of the campaign we ran—substantive, different, and true to our vision for NJ.

Taking a short break to recalibrate, but thank you all. Truly.

I’ve spent most of this campaign focused on meet & greets and connecting w/undecided, engaged voters- not street festivals. But today, I hit 3 major festivals in 3 different counties + the reception blew me away. I couldn’t be more excited and encouraged heading into Tuesday!

This Odd Lots interview with Fulop is great. You can tell when a YIMBY really knows what they're talking about and can get in the weeds vs someone who just says build/zoning/build/zoning.

The system is broken. Let’s fix it, build a future that works: I’m Steven Fulop, running for N.J. governor. Steven Fulop, a Democrat, is a husband, father of three, Marine Corps veteran, and Mayor of Jersey City.

Early voting starts today and this is our chance to change NJ.

If you’re still undecided, read my op-ed published today. This campaign is about real reform, not soundbites and putting people before politics.

Last two events of Sunday - a large zoom and meet/greet in Montclair. This election is about a choice whether we want the status quo county boss system in NJ or a system that is accountable to you. Whether we want a candidate in poll tested platitudes or a concrete vision for NJ

Two more stops for the night - Salsa on Grove - #JerseyCity. This city has been so good to me and I’ve tried to be equal back to it in every way - putting everything I have into my job as mayor as I’m beyond thankful the residents entrusted me to this job for 12 years. I’m never leaving this city
