Three panel comic. Panel 1: young man in a hoodie looking morose and sitting on a swing set. He says “she’s breaking up with me…” Panel 2: next to him is a glyptodon, an early ancestor of armadillos. With his head in his hands, the young man says “what do I do glyptodon?” Panel 3: the glyptodon says “I’m like an early ancestor of armadillos. The young man angrily replies, “are you even listening man?”

Doesn’t BlueSky only have like 1m active users? If you’re blocking 300,000 of them you might as well be blocking all of them

This is so funny. I’m blocked as a result of this action and, despite my feelings, my criticism of AI on here has been muted at worst.

A naive question: How do you model something when you don't know the criteria you are going to impose?

I think people are often rightly suspicious of self-described male feminists, but even so I'm not afraid to stand up and say that we shouldn't be eating women for lunch.

An email from "Women in Finance Lunch"

I don't know how I ended up on this mailing list but I've been getting these emails for a while now and every time I do, it reads to me like the women are in the lunch

Labor wouldn't need to make any changes to the NDIS if it implemented the proposed tax gas which is estimated to earn Australia $17 billion!

They'd even get a little bonus...

They were the premium (x dollars per minute) phone numbers for things like phone psychics, "adult" chat lines etc., which are now 1900 (or 190x) numbers.

I believe the change from 0055 to 1900 occurred around the same time that we moved from 7 to 8 digit standard phone numbers, in the mid-nineties

Have just seen that my work's IT policy bans the use of company devices for calling "0055" numbers, in case I find myself transported back in time to the 1990s

Look, I don't play it well. I put it on easy mode and go on never-ending wars of expansion. If I try it on the harder difficulties the game mechanics inevitably lead to constant revolts

The strait isn't even of any real significance in Crusader Kings - that's just where I learnt most of my European geography

Unfortunately the crossword I was doing mentioned the strait of Bosporus so I'm going to be thinking about playing Crusader Kings for the rest of the week
