The stained glass piece took about 5 minutes per layer I think, but over 14 layers that adds up to an hour and ten. That's just over an hour I basically had to babysit and manually swap filament. The Prusa Mini didn't even have proper filament swap gcode support so it was all pauses.
A very good idea, one I already considered a while back but a) I'm not a good artist (although it would be an interesting challenge) and b) I've got other things higher on the Todo list. This is definitely an idea I'm hoping to maybe return to eventually.
👀 I used to have the STLs on my Etsy but I found it really hard to recreate the same effect using modern slicers that automatically try to stop you doing stupid things 😅

A few years back I modelled & 3D printed this Levequest card.
Creating the 'stained glass' effect using a single colour printer involved manually swapping out FOURTEEN different filaments.
I was always very happy with it, but it's too much hassle to make more.
