It also appears in a story called The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands, in Skeleton Crew.

I am OBSESSED by that story-club and want a whole set of stories set there to flesh out it's weird history, including Stephens the Butler (sinister!). King told me he may do it one day.

I am writing a horror story about food and just googled "what do different cultures call human meat."

Absolute legend. A class warrior.

Absolutely. Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker. It has hungry ghosts (literally), it's packed with social commentary, and though there are overtly scary moments, it also has a keen psychological edge.

I've been busily recording some cool Off Book episodes recently.

I've got an interview with the director and star of UNDERTONE out tomorrow, and Damian McCarthy discussing HOKUM coming out soon.

Recorded an episode with Carter Keane today. Whilst talking about their backwoods cult monster novella MORSEL - we managed to embark on a 30-40 minute interrogation of late capitalism and corporate culture.

Y’know … typically Talking Scared lefty shit!

Me, cowering behind a bright red ARC of Paul Tremblay’s new novel DEAD BUT DREAMING OF ELECTRIC SHEEP

Woop! New Paul Tremblay has landed. A story of AI horror and bodily (un)autonomy. Can’t wait to see what the Duke of Ambiguous does with the topic.

And yes… he’ll be back on the show.

This week, we've got the brilliant Neil McRobert from @talkscaredpod.bsky.social along for the ride as we fall asleep on the London Underground, wake up to find the last train has gone, and discover we're very much not alone. We watched CREEP. Episode coming Friday.

Thank you. I have a copy of Bones of our Stars that i'm desperately trying to find time to read - cos it sounds exactly my type of horror. I'll look into the graphic novels too.

SPOILED MILK by Avery Curran - a story of subtle, sapphic haunting (until the subtlety gives way to feral craziness).
