Did you not serve him a can of very (!) high-end tuna and as many of his favorite treats as he wanted? 😉

Any changes to immigration or work status has become a gamble. Wait times are long & the government increasingly engages in intrusive vetting, claiming national security. Data privacy is at best uncertain & freedom of speech (& thought?) becomes an afterthought for non-citizens.
Our talk about caring for victims isn‘t just being tested in the case of sex offenses.
Funding for the Crime Victims Fund has always been unstable & unreliable. Yet, Trump‘s pardons of major white-collar offenders & forgiving their restitution payments shortchanged victims further.
This conversation parallels Yale‘s report on the advantages of the wealthy & well-connected. Prestigious fellowships, major book contracts & accolades follow similar patterns, highlighting the accomplishments of a small already well-established group.
One of the fallouts from the loss of DOJ credibility may be the restoration of the power of (grand and trial) juries. A new court tracker indicates that refusals to indict in politically motivated cases crop up regularly now. Trial juries don't just acquit, they do so in record time.
Not too long ago, we all agreed that teen births are undesirable. Many were unintended, cut education short, and had negative health and economic consequences.
Why did that consensus break down? Facts didn‘t change.
This should be on everyone’s morning reading list.
„Please protect me from people who think differently“ is the justification for a 1L (!) judicial clerkship hiring process. All the incentives and power structures are aligned incorrectly in this process that favors ideological purity & connections above all else.
In the meantime, crime continues to drop.
It isn’t the early 1990s.
When you see something, say something.
We need to move these signs into government offices.
It was an incredible story of resilience, persistence, and civic mindedness — and now it takes a dark turn.
I wondered the same. Had hoped this idea was dropped but apparently it‘s back. It shouldn’t be a thing.
Students are scared. Universities & the federal government have threatened them with diploma denials & deportations when protesting.
Why do we put the burden on young people now to represent our conscience?
And No Kings had large anti-war contingents — and many other issues.
Perfect parallel to Kash Patel claiming credit for the drop in crime, based on a chart demonstrating it happened under Biden 🤷♀️ @counciloncj.org

👍🏻nobody who ever visited can take this idea seriously
😀 Spandau was expensive and then torn down. I get the spirit but don’t trust that we won‘t fill what we build.
A misunderstanding is my husband thinking we have salmon for dinner and he finds chicken on the table. It‘s not like we have independent parties working out our dinner plans or writing agreement about them — and best, nobody will die with our misunderstanding.
Alcatraz now is an interesting tourist attraction, including an exhibit on mass imprisonment & stories of bad men & innocent men, of discrimination & deprivation.
The prison was expensive then, is entirely outdated & never left its staff happy. There were reasons to close it.
A vanity project.
DOE no longer protects those students who need the most protection.
In the not-so-good old days, war crimes would be hidden, camouflaged, investigated till they were forgotten. Now they are proudly announced.
A profound change indicative of a total collapse of rules-based thinking and beliefs.
All the President’s Women.
Thanks for NOT calling it “a deal” or “shrewd negotiation”.
Good question.
It didn’t feel like a well-scripted speech.
Signaling war crimes & environmental catastrophes in a prime time address should be another firsts.
Firsts, such as presidents attending SCOTUS arguments, are highly overrates
Also claiming that there was regime change (first names changed??) and that current leaders are much more reasonable.
Apparently not reasonable enough I’d we have to bomb them.
I feel bad for the students who are supposed to put this into a logical argument.
😂
😂 middle school! Perhaps someone is working on a parody comparing the Cabinet to a middle school.
Priorities?!
I have some questions.
9-year-olds tend to be full of empathy & decency. They care about others and want a pet (if they don’t have one). They don’t reason through problems and son’t see long-term consequences.
Some similarities perhaps. Not the same.
