White people, it’s not enough to not be racist. Y’all need to HATE racism like Kendrick Lamar hates Drake. Commit to the goddamned bit.
Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

Gotta be Percival Everett! Read James recently and couldn’t believe I’d never read him before!
I've been struggling to write lately due to publishing setbacks and lack of confidence. I've found a few things that help and thought I'd share. Please tell me what works for you.
- Setting word targets
- Getting outside and exercising
- Absorbing all sorts of art
- Remembering why I started.
This so resonates - thanks for sharing!!
Just finished this one! Fantasy can be hit/miss for me but this had great character development and a twisty turny (sometimes convoluted) plot… all wrapped in a mystery. I’m here for a mystery any day! #books #booksky ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Did you know that around 80% of K-12 teachers are White (mostly women)? In PA there are districts that are 100%! But… about 50% of K-12 public school students are students of color
Simple demographics that give clues to the culture of Whiteness in education. How do you think this impacts students?
Awesome thank you!
Omg absolutely! I think this explains what I’ve experienced professionally and personally. Thank you for sharing!
Love that! Thank you for the work you’re doing
Yes please!
Oh wow! I taught undergrad pre service teachers for a while and never knew if anything I said stuck with them so I appreciate you doing the work! I know it’s not easy
Amazing work!! Thank you for sharing. I’m wondering how you’re thinking about unconscious maintenance vs willful ignorance? I always struggle with this.
That’s so cool! I’ve only recently learned more about the history of how Eastern European immigrants assimilated to Whiteness
😂
1. Fartbags!! 😂
2. Will 💯 read your Substack about the systems of Whiteness in Frasier!!
Yes absolutely!! Thank you for sharing!! Are you unpacking your own family history or others??

Amazing!! Thanks for sharing. Wondering how you talk about confronting Whiteness? This is something I’ve been trying to figure out with teaching.
Ah this is so cool! I have a few projects going but I’m actually working on a duoethnography with a colleague about raising critical consciousness in preservice courses and some of the concepts you have listed here are exactly what I’ve been thinking about but didn’t have words for!
Thanks for sharing! This is so fascinating esp for this book nerd. Feel like I get some book recs that are labeled “diverse” but they just… aren’t? I’m assuming that’s where White literary taste comes in…
I’ve never been to WI but I can imagine. What do you teach?
Hey y’all!! Any folx out here focusing on Whiteness studies/ critical Whiteness/ the culture of Whiteness? Would love to check out your work!!
