I'd recommend games that are primarily voice acted and have subtitles for most encounters. I remember learning a lot of words with Spyro 2/3 as a little ESL kid. It's just a bummer Portuguese voiced games are harder to track down. Maybe the Sly games are in PT-PT

I beat it for the first time last year. It's really impressive the game has almost no loading screens and is "kinda" open world.
