I’ve long argued that there’s 2 kinds of documentaries: good ones, and book reports. This sounds like the latter. Pity!

‘Ebony & Ivory’ Review: Jim Hosking’s Revisionist Anti-Comedy Take On Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder’s Musical Team-Up Is The Opposite Of Perfect Harmony Anti-comedy provocateur Jim Hosking does a revisionist take on Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's 'Ebony & Ivory' collab, but there's no harmony here.

‘Ebony & Ivory’ is the worst movie I’ve seen in a decade or more. Totally irredeemable in every way.
“This film is like some kind of corrupted, infectious, cinematic black hole that obscures and swallows all other sins in and around it.” Read more if you dare…

’28 Years Later’ Movie Review Misshapen, inert, and incomplete, ’28 Years Later’ feels like the bad first episode of a bigger story that’s only just getting started here.

My review, as promised. There’s a lot wrong with 28 Years Later, but the misses in the action choreo surprised me the most. Boyle has officially lost his fastball, @scenestealreric.bsky.social

Review coming shortly, but 28 Years Later = stunningly bad. Like, I’m shook. Wasn’t expecting it to be nearly this awful.

Sometimes I think about the ever-narrowing scope of things I allow myself to give a fuck about, and it worries me. Like, not today, but sometimes.

Getting older is just the crushing, daily realization that you’ll never have a boss as awesome as Joe from Empire Records, and that your expectations for good management crested at 16 years old.

‘Reacher’ Season 3 Review: Frontier Justice In 21st Century America Never Felt So Good 6’5’’ brick shit-house drifter Alan Ritchson, aka Jack Reacher returns in the third season of his kick-ass action series for Amazon.

New Reacher season drops tomorrow, and it’s [Larry David voice] pretty, pretty good. Even so, it has some issues in the back half when the changes from the book start catching up with the show’s version of the story. My review: theplaylist.net/reacher-seas...

‘The Perfect Neighbor’ Review: Bodycam Doc Explores the Consequences of Manufactured Fear In 2020s America [Sundance] 'The Perfect Neighbor': a disagreement between neighbors in Florida takes a lethal turn, w/ police body camera footage probing the aftermath

I'm covering #sundance for @theplaylist.bsky.social and saw one of the best docs I've seen in years. "The Perfect Neighbor" is a startling look at the effects of manufactured fear in Trump's America. Couldn't recommend it more: theplaylist.net/the-perfect-...

#cassandro is pretty good…great, even. Was hoping for a little more out of the 3rd act, though. My review: www.scene-stealers.com/reviews/prin...

No one ever talks about how getting older just means being tired all the time and getting fatter and depressed because your favorite clothes don’t fit any more…just kidding, everyone talks about that shit. And they’re right.

30 years now and 99% of the radio airplay Nine Inch Nails gets is “Closer” (ironically, one of their least radio-friendly songs). A dozen albums and at least twice that many damn good songs and still…”Closer” dominates. [sigh]
