Would love to know what other indie devs experience is with getting feedback from friends. So many people tell me they are excited to try it etc. then when reality comes in you find out the truth the hard way lol

Yes agree, for a complicated game you probably want a scripted battle that starts with vanilla cards and ramps up.

Pop ups over keywords or other things they need to know that they can dismiss once they understand. Then it ends up being a nice mixture of some of the other solutions but is mostly learning by doing. (2/2)

Ps something for all learning styles is prob best initially

So I did a version of 1 in my last public demo and it worked well for some to get an idea of what they need to do before stakes were involved, but I think it was mostly necessary because of unclear UI and the battle system being quite unique.

Imo 4 would work best if you have (1/2)

I've found the celebi deck is hard to setup though, vs a misty or Pikachu ex deck it's over before you get the combo off :/

Serperior pairs really well with Celebi ex!

This Raichu looks cool, but it's a shame the pikachu ex counter is in an electric deck (probably running pikachu ex alongside it)

Being able to build a small deck and battle my gf within 10 mins is awesome. Great way to have a break throughout the day

It's more like cs go than cod tbh, but I think some other creators have made maps that replicate cod with kill streaks etc
