Christie made a name for herself within the Fighting Game community, cultivating a strong fanbase that have begged for her return. She’s also made a name for herself being the first black woman introduced in the Tekken series, as well as being highly regarded when it comes to appearance and looks.

Christie Monteiro was introduced in Tekken 4 as the alternative capoeira option for the native Tekken 3 character Eddy Gordo. At first she was intended to be the main capoeira fighter for the third installment of the Tekken series, however, the developers opted for the male counterpart instead.
