Our online presentation series concluded last month.
Five presentation covered radon measurements, aerosols, phytoplankton, modeling and how all this helps us to understand greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The NuClim team visited the Pallas ICOS - Integrated Carbon Observation System Atmospheric Station. It was great to see another location where our partner Finnish Meteorological Institute - Ilmatieteen laitos @ilmatieteenlaitos.fi performs world‑class greenhouse gas observations!

Yesterday, part four of our presentation series took place. Paula Eisnecker from the University of the Azores talked about phytoplankton, which needs CO₂, sunlight and nutrients to bloom. Phytoplankton is an essential part of the marine carbon cycle and known to be influenced by climate changes.

Meet Anca Melintescu, Senior Scientist at “Horia Hulubei” National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering in Măgurele, Romania, working in radiological risk assessment. In NuClim, she models the increase of ambient dose rate due to radon and other meteorological factors.

Meet Aimon Tanvir, a Postdoc at Mace Head. In NuClim, she works on GHGs and radon measurements to understand spatial variability and air mass influence.

Paula is an early-career scientist at the University of the Azores working with remote sensing data to improve the understanding of local phytoplankton dynamics and their links to ocean–atmosphere CO₂ exchange.
