Finally took delivery of my new 16 year old pickup. Other than a few small things it's like it rolled off the production line this year.
Boy howdy am I ever rusty with the Wiggle stick.
Now that's a real classy truck right there.
I hear that from a lot of the guys, but there's just something about the t680s that I don't like. Not sure what it is.
My guess is that we got it from one of our acquisitions, and they probably owned the truck outright, but the rig I'm in is a 2021, so ๐คทโโ๏ธ
We are more likely to keep Peterbilt around here because we have a Peterbilt dealership right next to our terminal, despite our main fleet being T680s.
Honestly when I first saw it I thought they were bringing it to retire it lol.
It's either going to come back to me instantly, or I'm going to money shift it on the first run. Either way it's going to be interesting lmao.
And yeah, we have a couple manual kenworths. This Peterbilt is absolutely a hand-me-down from another terminal lol.
I'm pretty sure it's a 2020, but I'm not positive. I'm just going off the numbering conventions that we typically use at this terminal. I'll know better in a few days when I actually move into it lol
Can't go wrong with that classic styling.
Though I will say, the bunk is set up weird.

Work is putting me in a new truck later this week, and I am both nervous and excited. It's been over 8 years since I've driven a manual.
But boy howdy if it isn't a pretty truck.
๐ค
Are we talking like an "Escape from New York" type situation? Lmao.
But yeah, that is an unhinged take lol.

Wait what?
My dyslexic ass thought this said "Outlaw Montana."
Didn't even question it
Six full looking yard waste bags lined up against a wooden wall
Got a little bit of yard work done before running out of bags.
Saturdays where I only have a 4 hour drive back home make me wish I still operated on paper logs.
I don't understand why my Canadian, hometown Facebook page is full of people supporting Donald Trump. We are bordertown, but every time somebody posts something remotely negative about the states, the comments are just filled with people yelling about TDS.
It's exhausting.
Was great to see all the No Kings activists hanging out on the overpasses in Connecticut today.

Been loving the warmer weather. Delivered to a candy factory in Merrillville Indiana yesterday. It was, frankly, gorgeous out.
Chamel Abdulkarim, a 29-year-old employee of NFI Industries, was arrested on felony arson charges after allegedly setting fire to a 1.2-million-square-foot Kimberly-Clark distribution center in Ontario, California. The massive six-alarm blaze, fueled by paper products like toilet paper and tissues, completely destroyed the facility and caused the roof to collapse, though all 20 employees on-site managed to escape without injury. Investigators linked Abdulkarim to the crime through a social media video he filmed while igniting pallets of inventory, in which he repeatedly voiced his motive for the blaze: "All you had to do was pay us enough to live."

Free undercarriage wash at days and bath!
Hot take, but in my opinion, driving a bus should be one of the highest paid and easiest to lose jobs in the entire transportation industry.
As a professional driver, one thing I have observed in Canada is that people who drive coach buses are some of the most reckless and aggressive drivers on our highways. I don't understand why these buses aren't speed governed the same way our large trucks are.

What would you say is your favorite para-social relationship?
No clue. On my Chevy I drilled directly into the bed to mount my CB antenna, but I don't want to do that with this one. I've never had a tonneau cover or a back rack so I'm going to need to do some research this time around.
Oh that thing is beautiful. I am a huge fan of oversized lights on trucks. Thinking about getting a headache rack for it so I'm not drilling into the bed when it's time for me to install my CB lol.
Yeah I have the feeling this thing was somebody's baby too, it's immaculate inside, manual 5-speed transmission, and the only reason he's selling it is because it's too small for his grandkids car seats in the back.
Exactly. I had planned to go longer without purchasing a new vehicle but this one just caught my eye
