like 60fps most of the time, fast loading times, stable enough that I haven't crashed or anything before Old Yharnam
only major issue is sometimes I'll respawn at the lamp and my performance will halve, but if you just save and restart the emulator it goes away so ? cool
started to tinker with PS4 emulation, with the obvious choice
honestly problems aside (and with a decent amt of fixes/mods) I am shocked that this just. works
I got him when he was 1yo so I can't actually say for certain
have my cat playing with a plastic bottle lol this dude's an idiot lol he's probably never even played gunstar heroes
you can call it wankery, you can call it a bunk approach, whatever idc, but try to get a random person on the street to play literally anything that sounds like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZau...
one of the classic burns against avant-garde/free jazz that's always annoyed me is that it sounds like someone who doesn't know how to play [piano, sax, drums etc. etc.]
the distinction is like. very obvious to me? "correct" notes aside, playing with that level of ferocity is a physical feat
I did chuckle quietly to myself when I started the playlist like this
IT COUNTS!
I made a semi-arbitrary rule of 2 albums per artist and if I let that go I'd be able to go to like 125
but that's no fun
I started a playlist of 100 rap albums I like and I've been stuck at 95 for like a week
going to the suicide store y'all need anything
okay I feel like I can definitely beat this with a good run, my problem here was a couple of clumsy deaths that shortened my life count even though there were heals on screen

it's crazy how weak the narrative thread about your family and how anodyne the visual presentation is, this game about a house that has otherworldly properties manages to make you feel nothing about what is potentially the easiest premise to say "cool" to
it's been a while since I brought it up here but I realized I should provide an update in any place I spoke about it
my dad's tumor is now benign, thanks to all of the treatments he's gone through. we were expecting surgery as the final step of sorts but apparently it went well enough to avoid that
either way this game is still very good, as much as I complain about the length of an average arcade run the truth is that it actually doesn't have much in the way of fluff... any "what would you remove" arguments get hard to deflect because it is truly Too Much of a Good Thing
the obstacles are obvious, once certain enemy types start being more prevalent (see: the entire rooftops level) my consistency drops like an anchor
this ๐ค close to packing up a 1CC on hard with axel in sor4, unfortunately for me this game is so back-heavy that I still have my biggest hurdles in front of me despite being basically 1 level away from the end here
the rumors are true, I'm no longer the big 3-0 today, I'm the significantly less momentous 31
gotta get my own confetti cuz this place still has none
ANYWAY I don't wanna get too persnickety about this stuff cuz the final thoughts lean very positive as far as map complexity/puzzles/everything else goes, it feels handmade to please me in a lot of ways so I guess all these thoughts are simply a side effect of that
spells that should prolly be looked at for the sake of this difficulty plateau:
-black orb (of course lol)
-black smog (OHKO'ing random enemies is crazy)
-roots that reap (trivialized the logic fight)
apparently mischief of rats is also nasty but I didn't get it till my final hexen trip so idk
made marina and abella absolute killing machines?
my first few hours were pretty grueling because I did a lot of "wonder what this does [proceeds to die]" type stuff but after I learned the general vibe of the game, and got some healthy hexen completion done, finishing was pretty much a given
quick review that is incomplete in some way because there's clearly a lot to still do: loved it, though I do have some reservations about the mid-to-late game as far as the RPG aspects go
I dunno if I lucked into a good build on accident or what, but a relatively meager amt of experimentation...
just finished friday night fungin 2 unfortunately the game does not have steam overlay working right so I didn't get a cool screenshot of the credits so just trust me okay
some info for hashtag those who know:
-marina MC
-started with engrave
-mediocre bible luck so far :(
-Abella + sword drop = lots of early soul stones tho :)
finally started to break thru in funger 2 last night, which by my own personal metrics means "did enough with my first two saves that I don't feel the compulsion to reroll for no reason"
the only meaningful thing I have to say wrt this is that there was a tower of evidence suggesting this outcome and expectancy would arrive that select fgc members ignored because they thought this relationship had a chance of being symbiotic
this game is going to be a skintag dangling off the riot machine before we hit the next even numbered year
4-stars-and-a-like dispenser
at the halfway mark of the winter and chilblains has been much less of an issue this winter because I decided to not fuck around about wearing socks and indoor footwear this time. if nothing else goes right in my life at least my feet don't fuckin hurt for no reason
