There’s a guy (middle aged man) on LinkedIn who has really taken against me for my recent column making the case for a graduate tax for the over-50 so he’s spending his Saturday morning accusing me of owning a horse

Honestly it would have been more "staggering" if Mandelson *had* passed his checks

Thing is, I can sort of believe that Starmer just literally didn't ask whether Mandelson actually passed vetting, and also that his Downing Street imagines this to be an excuse rather than a pretty strong case for resignation in and of itself.
