If this wasn't the NY Times I'd think this was a poorly executed and very late April Fool's Day joke.

What people are really asking when they ask this is: "Can we go back to when the seats of power and media were less open to the sort of people who get offended when we disparage them?"

The frustrating part about this is this person wouldn't have done any of this if they just chose to believe trans people when we spoke about ourselves. Instead she decided we were liars and deserved to be put in our place, and now she's on the chopping block. Congrats you played yourself.

Lotta people using “scaffolding” as a metaphor when they mean “armature.” Scaffolding is an exterior structure that allows construction to occur within it, armature is an interior framework around which something is built.

This is a thread of five things I'm doing for senior and staff designers in the next few months. All are online. Some are free, some are paid.

What Rod Serling said about "The Big Tall Wish" It was rare back then, to have a mostly Black cast especially on a major network.

The problem with balloons is not just the latex or mylar/plastic waste they create.

Helium is a rare and limited resource, which is also essential for use in important tasks like medical imaging (MRIs).

Both the casing and the filling are extremely wasteful and environmentally unfriendly!

A Cryptography Engineer’s Perspective on Quantum Computing Timelines The risk that cryptographically-relevant quantum computers materialize within the next few years is now high enough to be dispositive, unfortunately.

Two papers came out last week that suggest classical asymmetric cryptography might indeed be broken by quantum computers in just a few years.

That means we need to ship post-quantum crypto now, with the tools we have: ML-KEM and ML-DSA. I didn't think PQ auth was so urgent until recently.

Notice how they never cite a study or statistic that justifies AI use in the classroom. Why? Bc there is basically no evidence that AI improves student learning outcomes (and they know it). Politicians are putting corporate profit ahead of student needs—a corporate-backed science experiment on kids

As long as Mike Johnson isn't having to wade through articles of impeachment to get to his desk, Democrats aren't doing their damn jobs. The minority party needs to annoy the shit out of the majority. 'Norms' and 'bipartisanship' died decades ago, Democrats need to accept that.

People on here rightly are pissed by the way Democratic politicians post as if they are witnesses to what's happening instead of ACTORS in what's happening. It's absolutely pathetic and weak.
