Players on a winless Washington Spirit found a plastic coyote on a training field before an away game.
They turned it into a fun little gag.
Then they won.
Now, they have an absurd reminder of how important it is to have fun.
Meet Jose the Coyote.

Cacahuatique clang the crossbar. So close to restoring the lead. They're not letting the equalizer get them down.
Limeno's goal scored by Colombian, Cindy Castellanos in the 60'.
A quick thrown and an immediate cross found Castellanos unmarked at the far post, and she volleyed in the equalizer.
Currently in the 70' Cacahuatique 1-1 Municipal Limeno
Goal Limeno!
They've been better in the second half, and they get an equalizer straightaway. A cross to the far post was well finished. Haven't been able to determine the goal scorer yet.
Cacahuatique 1-1 Limeno.
Second half action underway.
Cacahuatique 1-0 Municipal Limeno
Leg 1 of El Salvador's 2026 Clausura quarterfinals.

HT: Cacahuatique 1-0 Municipal Limeno
Definitely a major upset if this result holds. Only leg 1, but this will be a surprise loss for Limeno.
Nothing pretty about the goal, but you can point to a variety of errors from Limeno that they don't typically make. Credit to Cacahuatique's approach.
35' And it pays off! Goal Cacahuatique!
And it's Leyli Hernandez! She picks up a poor clearance attempt and runs on goal, finishing past Angela Panameno, Limeno's excellent keeper.
Actually, I think Cacahuatique are playing to their limitations well. Instead of inviting pressure, they're clearing long then pressuring the Limeno defense, looking to create turnovers for quick counters. It's disrupting Limeno's build up and forcing them to play their own longballs.
28' Cacahuatique are holding their own so far and probably winning the possession battle, which is not what I'd have expected. They've largely kept Limeno at bay.
Best shot came on a nice volley from outside the box for Limeno, but relatively easy for keeper to save.
Cacahuatique have an uphill battle in the fixture, and they lost to Limeno in the final match of the season, 2-0.
Still, they've got some decent attackers who can be a threat, even if isolated chasing down long balls - Leyli Hernandez (no. 21) most especially. So they will look to steal a win.
Limeno (in black jerseys) are the favorites and the second seed in the playoffs. They've been runners up the last three seasons, losing to Alianza both times. They're led by one of the leagues all-time greats, Damaris Quélez, who has scored somewhere around a bazillion goals.
For the #WoSo sickos itching for some Wednesday action, the open match of the quarterfinals are about to kickoff in El Salvador.

And if you want a catch up on the domestic action that happened during the international break, I've got you here:
The April #WoSo international break has come and gone. It featured the #USWNT and their series of matches with Japan, but there was also World Cup qualifying happening on four different continents - North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania.
If you missed the action, catch up here:
Literally my present for my 40th birthday party. It was in the midst of COVID, so a lot of possible gift ideas were unavailable, but still. Love that faucet.
Despite the international break, there was league action across Central & South America.
In fact, El Salvador packed the final 4 league matches into 12 days. The result was goals, few upsets, a brawl resulting in multiple 8-game suspensions, and Inter FA bizarrely parting with their coach. #WoSo
Thanks!
I suppose it makes sense the players would become free agents since their contracts are with the club. Hopefully they can find new clubs quickly, in Mexico or elsewhere. Some talent on the squad.
Really rough for the international players.
For #WoSo folks familiar with #LigaMXFemenil:
I know Mazatlan is ceasing operations at the end of the clausura and that Atlante has taken over the professional rights of the men's side.
(1) Does this include the rights to the women's side as well?
(2) Do we know what will happen to the players?
Been a decent start for Guatemala, but Villalobos with a hell of a smash to give Costa Rica the lead.
That’s a funny autocorrect/typo. Go Real Sociedad hats!
Goazen Erreala!
Yessssss!!!
For Aitor Zabaleta!
Gorra Erreala!
La Real need to do something different for extra time.
Ugh
La Real need to get some possession and relieve the pressure.
Musso punched Guedes pretty well there.
Penalty by Oyarzabal scored!
Aupa Erreala!
FT:
Panama 3-0 Cuba
Haiti 1-1 Dominican Rep
Haiti and Panama move on.
Dominican Republic equalize!
Haiti finally scores. A header put in from a free kick. That’s probably that then.
Just turned back to Panama v Cuba, and Panama make it 3.
Didn’t catch player, but a beautiful pass sent Arauz behind the defense and she slotted home.
PAN 3-0 Cuba
