Hope the rest of the trip is going well! We had the same experience when fast charging...kids breaks take way longer than the charge.

Yeah, I only went to Reddit b/c there's so little info about the fix from HMG/NHTSA. I asked the dealer to explain the difference between the 2nd replaced ICCU from the original & 1st fix & they can't or won't tell me what was updated. Hoping these growing pains get fixed, because we love the Ioniq!
I loved last summer's road trip fast charging in my Ioniq 6 with my toddlers! But we are the lucky few who have had the ICCU brick our car twice. Not fun, esp with kids in the car. Hoping the second replacement works, and wishing for actual data/info from HMG rather than relying on reddit threads!
Reminds me of a weekly segment on our local news growing up: Big 'Ol Fish. www.kcrg.com/sports/fishi.... Mostly kids, variety of fish caught, runs all year based on backlog of summer fish and ice fishing, and been running for decades!
Thanks!
John, we were just looking at this figure in our group meeting! Was there no NG CCS installed in this period, was it accidentally not plotted, or am I just not seeing it?
My kids are obsessed with the bus because I love buses. I love buses because my mom taught me how to ride the great little system in our home town: www.nytimes.com/2025/11/18/c...
I was certain there must be a potential stop between State Street and Wallingford! Or at least I wish there was one!
New nuclear projects face significant barriers, from cost overruns to supply chain issues. A recent @nationalacademies.org workshop explored ways to improve timelines for construction, decision-making, investment, and community engagement. Proceedings: www.nationalacademies.org/event/44002_...
Huge thanks to the legislators, DOE/DOT Joint Office staff, state of NY, town of Hancock, EV charging companies, Hyundai, and the early EV pioneers and advocates for the hard work of a decade+ to build the reality where our charging stop was one of the easiest parts of our trip! #alwaysbecharging
I've only had an EV for one year, but still I've seen big improvement in fast charging, especially the fully functioning chargers, high power/short time, new stations right off the highway, ease of using the app, and the ability to pay with a credit card, no app, if that worked best!
Replacing our ICE with an EV has meant much less time and $ fueling our vehicle (no gas station visits, just a regular old 120V plug at home every week or so). However, for road trips, we did need new infrastructure to make EVs useable.
There were about 8 non-Tesla chargers, and about the same number of Tesla chargers. At the times we visited, the chargers were busy with #Tesla, #GM, #Ford, #Nissan, #Kia, #Polestar, and #Hyundai vehicles, but there was never a wait. Nice to see so many EVs out on the road!
We would have had just enough time for a stretch, bathroom, and diaper change, but of course with the kids, our 15 minute stop turned into 30+ minutes while we ate lunch, kicked a ball around, etc. It was a warm and clear summer day, but if it had been cold or wet, there was a McDonalds Playspace!
The Hancock Town Hall, which sits in front of the EV charging station.
Guys, the rumors were true...charging our #EV on a 300 mi, 5 hr road trip with my toddlers was super easy. Thanks to #NYPA #NEVI & #electrifyamerica which fund, build & operate nice fast chargers right off the highway! Our #hyundai #ioniq6 gets 80% in 15-20 min! S/O to Hancock NY for hospitality!
You have most of the advice you wanted, but piping in to say we've leased a 2024 Ioniq 6 for ~1yr and love it. My advice is to start looking for the trim you want now. Might have been late in the MY, but we couldn't get the color/motor option we wanted in our timeframe. Hope you love it like we do!

Newly elected members @nationalacademies.org! So much wonderful work these folks have done to advance our wellbeing, the economy, and the state of knowledge. It lifted my spirits to look into their careers and see the value of scientific research and scholarship! www.nasonline.org/news/2025-na...

(Full disclosure, I missed the halftime show putting my kids to bed, so unsure of the full context) but my high school English teacher at Iowa City City High did that for us 25 years ago, every Friday! You could bring in poetry or a song to break down! S/o to Jeff Morris!

Trans people out there living their lives have never been a threat to me. In contrast, like most women, Iβve been harassed or assaulted by plenty of βregularβ men. I donβt need protection from trans people, and quit invoking my and my daughterβs βdefenseβ to persecute people for who they are.
