Fractures Emerge Between GOP’s Pro-Pedophilia, Extremely Pro-Pedophilia Wings

These two editorials by the Washington Post expose how the Republican Party and Democratic Party are held to completely different standards by the media.
Texas gerrymander: “Not a threat to democracy.”
Virginia gerrymander: “Power grab by Democrats.”
Estimates show the 1918 flu epidemic killed about 45,000 US soldiers, about 38% of the total US military deaths in WWI. The flu and its secondary illnesses made up the majority of death by disease. Thousands (possibly as many as 36,000) died before making it from basic training to the battlefield.
This is a war based on lies
Trump has basically turned the presidency into a giant Bribe Delivery System.

If you paid taxes for 2025, you likely paid:
$124 — school lunch & nutrition programs
$49 — diplomacy to prevent wars
$19 — USPS
$19 — Federal Aviation Administration
$18 — national parks
and
$4,049 — weapons and war.
These priorities are hurting us all. We need change. #TaxDay
The US continues to have one of the highest maternal death rates among high-income countries, and the situation is getting worse. Behind this trend is a growing body of research showing that state abortion bans directly contribute to increased maternal mortality.
My illustration of the stars and bars flag on fire.
Happy Surrender and Freedom Day. April 9, 1865, Robert E. Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox.
It’s hard to overstate how much of this moment is driven by people who got a taste of accountability and were very, very mad about it.
Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal
"History will judge-" let me stop you right fucking there, history doesn't do fucking shit, I'm a historian, let's be clear here: elected officials need to do their fucking jobs, right now, before it happens, or future historians will judge THEM. Everyone knows and knew who Trump was.
The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.
This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.
Senate Republicans refused to convict Trump after Jan 6.
Republican SCOTUS appointees gave him immunity.
Republicans in Congress today stand idly by as he unleashes death and destruction across the globe.
We are now at the whims of a mad king because GOP leaders have refused to constrain him.
"What can Democrats do?"
When the South Korean president attempted to declare martial law, South Korean lawmakers literally fought through tanks and military forces and climbed fences to get into their Parliament building to stop him.
So, you know, that.
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
During Public Health Week, @defendpublichealth.bsky.social wants to thank all of the local health departments who are serving their communities in the face of chaos and funding cuts from RFK Jr.
Their work is critical and often invisible. We see you, and we are grateful for you.
Now any white man promoted has to be considered suspect because he may well have taken the place of a more qualified black or female officer personally removed from the promotion list by Hegseth.
I know it’s competing with an illegal war and 10,000 other major scandals but I feel like people should be making a bigger deal out of the DefSec systematically trying to resegregate the military
Pete Hegseth is blocking the promotion of four Army officers to be one-star generals.
Two of the officers targeted are Black and two are women.
The highly unusual move has prompted some senior officials to question whether the officers are being singled out because of their race or gender.
A drunk former fox news host refused to promote two Black and two female officers because a convicted felon and 5x draft dodger does not want to stand next to a Black woman at military events.
Think about that for a second.
This is breathtakingly brilliant. Best I’ve ever read on how Americans fell for Trumpism.
The frustrations with Mr. Hegseth’s approach came to a boil last summer during a heated exchange between Ricky Buria, Mr. Hegseth’s chief of staff, and Mr. Driscoll about a separate promotion. Mr. Buria chastised the Army secretary for selecting Maj. Gen. Antoinette R. Gant, a combat engineer who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, to take command of the Military District of Washington, said three current and former defense and administration officials familiar with the exchange. The command provides security and performs ceremonial duties in the nation’s capital, and its commander often appears alongside the president at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Buria told Mr. Driscoll that President Trump would not want to stand next to a Black female officer at military events, the officials said. Mr. Driscoll was shocked. “The president is not a racist or sexist,” he told Mr. Buria, according to the officials. Mr. Driscoll then raised the issue with a senior White House official who agreed with his assessment of Mr. Trump.
If we haven't lost our capacity to be shocked, then we should be shocked. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/27/u...

1/ It's not just that unilaterally paying TSA agents is illegal.
It's that Trump has now repeatedly undermined the core of the congressional power of the purse. He's not spending money that has been appropriated by law (impoundments) and he's spending money that has not been appropriated.
