Those who work with me know that I'm a *huge* fan of the notation software #Dorico, and that I'm constantly singing its praises. Well apparently the news got to Steinberg because they've invited me to join their artist endorsement roster. #composer

Out now! 'Aether & Iron', a new narrative RPG by Seismic Squirrel set in an alt reality 1930s New York. I co-composed the score with my collaborator Alex Williamson--a blend of Romantic classical and noir jazz. Give a listen to the main theme "A City of Aether & Iron" everywhere music is heard.

WNO is a terrific opera company with a visionary director that champions new talent in the opera world. They've recently left their home at The Kennedy Center and are in a transitional phase, so #SupportWNO... and who knows? Maybe you'll see another opera of mine there sometime soon. ;)

That led to a premiere at the Kennedy Center, which then led to a deep, year-long collaboration with some figure skating royalty: Lori Nichol and Carolina Kostner.

The Washington National Opera will have a starring role at the Olympics Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama, rival to Ilia Malinin, will perform his free skate to an arrangement of “Turandot” that was originally commissioned by the WNO.

It all started with a commission from Washington National Opera! Terrific article in the Washington Post about Yuma Kagiyama's free skate music, and how it all started when Francesca Zambello asked Susan Soon He Stanton and me to write a new ending to Turandot.

Ciao da Milano! First on the agenda: my pilgrimage to La Scala, legendary opera house where Turandot was first premiered 100 years ago. Considered seeing a performance, but didn't think my 7 year-old would be willing to sit through Götterdämmerung. 🤣
